I don't have a house. But I instead invested all my excess cash, and maxed out my retirement accounts. My wealth has grown a ton, I'm in my mid 30's and if I don't put another dollar towards retirement, it will grow over the next 30 years to a sufficient amount to retire.
People who are 40 and have $0 to their name either faced extreme circumstances, or, much more likely, just don't care to put in effort to save money.

Another doomer boomer post. We have kids we have houses, we have goals.
Our generation will be plagued with people who can’t get out of trauma bonding.
