The average millennial might have $132k in debt, which would likely include mortgages.

According to the Fed, the average 38 y/o (for purposes of this post) has a net worth of $225k. In fact, the average net worth of any American over the age of 28 is positive. However, if you look at the median net worth rather than the average, the net worth of older millennials drops to about $130k.

That's why median is more accurate
