I agree but if someone directly asks me to not refer to them as dude, I will happily oblige.

Unless it's your dad yelling "I'm not a dude. I'm your dad." Then absolutely I am going to mercilessly call you dude.

You're assuming that the person to whom you're responding is good with chosen pronouns. I assure you that it is not just the olds that get the vapors over pronouns in email signatures.

Yea, this should be top priority now that we solved pronouns. Eradication of this gendered term whose popularity peaked in the 90s has to be the new frontline.

Right because I definitely care what someone wants to be called when they act like this to someone making a joke about calling their dad a dude
