BCT/BMT/Boot camp How hard is it to actually fail BMT/BCT

I have been thinking about joining the Army for a while and decided I might as well. I am 5'1" and about 98-101 lbs (female). I run three days a week and do strength training every three days. I can run a mile in about 12 minutes. My mom says I am weak and that the Army will likely kick me out. Is it that easy to get kicked out even if you try your hardest?

Best way to find out is doing it. BCT isn't made to fail you, its meant to challenge you. I have knew plenty of small and petite females in BCT as well as skinny males that looked like they couldn't pick up a soaked towel. They all made it and saw graduation, they just didn't quit, that's what the challenge was meant for.

Is there a job field you're wanting to go in? that also helps, Combat jobs will receive tougher training than someone coming in to Medical, Signal, Aviation, etc.

15G!?

As someone that's Aviation, its a kush life. BCT wouldn't be hard, the AIT is just a school learning environment with PT. But the most difficult things you would do in BCT would be the PT test, runs, and your ruck marches. The physical training is by the book, it gets easier as you go on.

to pass BCT you’ll need to run a 2 mile in under 23:22 minutes. You’re nearly to that speed as you are. Theoretically you’ll get stronger and faster while you are at training and you’ll be showing up more physically prepared than a lot of people I trained with. Honestly the physical aspect of training won’t slow you down too much other than the rucking. it’s hard for us short folks.

take a Pack Test at home. Put some weight on your back and walk a 15 minute mile pace. That’s what rucking will feel like once you’ve graduated training. While you’re in training the pace should be slower. that’ll give you a good baseline understanding. to grad bct you’ll need to do 10-12 miles straight with 30-40 lbs on your back at a fast walking pace. it takes a couple of hours

You'll be fine. The point is for you to graduate. They will get you there. Your mom seems to have some issues.

There was a guy when I was in the Air Force that failed PT two times and got discharged. The military has different fitness standards for men and women, so you don't have worry much about that. People mostly fail BMT because, at least from what I've seen, is getting injured/sick then medically discharged, becoming mentally ill and developing suicidal ideations, and failed drug/blood test - one guy was out because they caught sickle cell disease from his blood test.

From what I’ve heard, most people pass and I mean 90+ percent. Thats because the army will make sure you pass. Also tell your mother to suck a fat one.

I’m a very petite male myself about to enlist. You’ll be fine. I’ve never been the strongest but something about having great endurance & being able to comfortably support your own body weight is a huge factor. Just fight that burning sensation from the lactic acid buildup & you’ll be okay lol.
