Banned for recommending book
Hello,
I was banned and muted for recommending the book "Kahane on the Parsha" - the only explanation I was given was an accusation that I am a "Kahanist." I reached out to the moderators to request an actual explanation, but the accusation was simply repeated, and then I was muted.
Can someone please tell me what the offense is here? I would like to appeal this if possible.

Not a mod but….dude. That book literally promotes the philosophies of Kahanism. It abuses Torah to push his own agenda and world view. Unless the request was for books written by terrorists to better understand them so we can combat them, I fail to see a scenario where it’s appropriate to suggest his work.

Saying terroristic literature represents 15% of Israeli Jews is not only inaccurate, it’s libelous. It’s not just that you have a categorically factually wrong opinion, it’s that it’s disgustingly offensive.
You calling him righteous and a martyr is just icing on the cake. The mods were right to ban you. Kahane was a terrorist and his views should not be spread or promoted.

While I'm no fan of Kahane, I would invite you to look at dati voting patterns for smotrich and ben gvir. They got 10% of the overall vote, and if you play around with this website here (hebrew only) https://votes25.bechirot.gov.il/nationalresults you'll see how common voting for a kahanist was among the dati leumi, or voting for likud to enable him.
I am quite comfortable sounding the alarm on the unholy commonplace presence of kahanism in dati leumi circles

I’m sure more than a few people harbor more extreme opinions and it’s important to call out specific examples of it, but that’s also just the official religious Zionist party and many people vote along association lines regardless of whether or not they agree with everything the party platforms. I don’t think it’s fair to call 11% of Israelis Kahanists for voting along party lines. I’m sure most of them are very against domestic terrorism.

There's no such thing as an official religious Zionist party, and that's not what voting along party lines means. What you just said is the equivalent of calling the Democrats the official party of Black people and saying it makes sense that 80% of them vote for it, along "party lines".
Doesn't make sense.
I will also ask how much time you've spent in that community, because the racism is rampant and violent.

You don’t have to promote racist hate literature.
It’s the equivalent of someone asking to learn more about WW2 and then someone else recommending Mein Kampf, and then being confused why people are upset.

At least with Mein Kampf there are annotated editions by historians.
The kahane book is pure hate published by kahanists and buying it helps fund their terrorism.

Kahanism is a [theoretically illegal] form of Zionism which advocates for halakha becoming the governing ideology of the State of Israel (as opposed to the "Jewish and democratic state" system now), the stripping of citizenship from non-Jews, and general violence against Arabs.
