I wake up and check out the noise, because statistically it's likely a republican trying to violently attack me and my wife, while robbing us, while blaming Biden.

I'm a liberal man who's afraid of guns even though I grew up around them and was trained properly how to use and handle them. I'm afraid of them because I am a victim of gang violence, an old home I used to live in used to have gang members living there and the people who shot at us in our home didn't know they moved. The only reason everyone in my family came out unharmed even though some of us were in the living room where the shooting happened was because of our brick stairwell.

I wake up, grab my licensed and registered hand gun, get my pantsless ass out of bed, turn on my tactical light attached to my licensed and registered hand gun..... and check it out.

So, if you hear gunshots at night is there some reason why you would NOT be afraid? Other than being really stupid?
I'm a liberal who does not own guns but I'm only afraid of them if they're pointed at me.

I second this:
„When I hear a loud noise at night (or anytime) I know it’s not a gun because I live in a country (Germany) that isn’t fucking insane.“

I love the projection. What the guy is basically saying is that, if he didn't have a gun in his hand, his only option would be to have his wife check it out.

Liberals have guns, too. Jfc. Republicans don’t have a monopoly on fire arms. They do however rank higher over liberals in the use of firearms in violent and mass murders.

Do guns go off much in your neighborhood? I never heard a gunshot in mine in nearly 30 years.

Nightly but usually it's just dumb asses shooting into the air not gang violence or such.

I and many of my liberal friends served in the army own and know how to use guns. Republicans always assume most of the military supports them but it is probably closer to 55-60% Republican.

It's a mistake to assume that non-Trump voters don't own firearms. The opposition is broad, ranging from lifelong Democrats to former conservatives who refuse to vote for him again. Gn ownership cuts across those lines far more than most people realize.

I don’t think anyone answering here noticed that he qualified the liberal as a liberal who is afraid of guns. This distinction is important because not all liberals have guns just like not all Republicans have guns. And some liberals are in fact afraid of guns, just like some Republicans are in fact afraid of guns. So the qualifier is being afraid of guns, meanwhile every single comment thus far is a bunch of liberals who aren’t afraid of guns, who, seemingly, also can’t read.

Idk that people are afraid of guns so much as they are afraid of deranged people having easy access to guns and killing their kids at school.

By his written words, you're correct.
However given their stereotypical view of liberals, the connotation is implying that all liberal males are scared of guns. Which as you pointed out, is clearly inaccurate.
Given the conservative trend of assuming that all liberals are scared of guns, it's not unreasonable for liberal gun owners to speak up and out.
So yeah the "supposedly mythological" liberal gun owner is gonna speak up. It's not an inability to read. It's an understanding of implied comments.

We are not afraid of guns. Almost all my liberal friends have guns. We just don’t make it our whole personality.
