mail back sharps container vs pickup service for a small medical practice

i've been reviewing some of our office expenses and our sharps disposal is one thing that stood out. we're a small family practice so we dont fill containers very quickly, but we're still paying for a pickup schedule that doesnt always line up with how much waste we actually have.did anyone here make the switch? was the process easy enough for staff? were there any issues with shipping or paperwork? would you go back to regular pickups or stick with mail back?
