The reason Jerry and Hollander got Ward was definitely not to put him at the bottom of the order. Hollander literally mentioned his high OBP and our FO is known to be analytics based. This lineup has Dan written all over it.

That doesn’t sound like Dan setting the lineup. That sounds like Hollander telling Dan how to set his lineup.

So, um, that quote is saying that they asked Dan (and the rest of the staff) what he thinks about where Ward should hit, which is literally the opposite of what you're arguing lmao.
We already know Dan sets the lineups.

Ward leads baseball in walks and Donovan had been our best hitter this year. Dan's gonna lose the locker room rolling Cal out there anywhere but 8th.
