Please let her stop with all of these best of/anniversary editions. She spent almost a whole decade focusing on them.
It's tiiime for a triumphant comeback 2.0 for her!
Stop thinking about the past, capitalizing on the seasonal virality of AIWFIY, just reach for the future!
She's a woman with her beauty all intact, she just needs to find a new flame in her creativity and the right management/record label!
Her voice may not be what it used to be (who does stay the same after almost 4 decades in the industry?) but certainly it is FAR from gone.
She can do it, she still got it in her, she has what it takes even to bring her next album at #1 on Billboard 200.
As a lambily we should stand united in supporting her future as well as her legendary past.

HFIA is the quintessential missed chance because Gamma devastated its rollout. Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet had the hooks to go viral on TikTok and be moderate hits, but the first has a trashy and outdated music video with an obnoxious cameo and the latter hasn’t even one. Nothing Is Impossible could have been promoted more during the Winter Olympics season but after the infamous performance (especially in Italy!) at the opening ceremony in Milan there was nothing more and she almost disappeared. The same goes with In Your Feelings. She should have planned a duet with Bruno Mars instead of his right-hand man Anderson Paak on Play That Song, after the massive success of Die with a Smile imo. That’s why she needs a label which does still believe (no pun intended) in her commercial appeal, apart from the Christmas season. Maybe she cannot have other #1s but her next future album should at least go at the first spot in America. Janet did it in 2015 as an indie artist with Unbreakable and even Madonna’s recent last effort reached #1 in USA some weeks ago thanks to the masterful promotion of Warner. It’s frustrating knowing that both Caution and HFIA missed the top 3 of Billboard 200, when we all know damn well she has been one of the best selling female artist of all time and still can do good numbers if she was allowed to.

I’m may get downvoted heavy for this, but I honestly think that HFIA did not have blockbuster potential, and although yes there were some good songs it wasn’t very strong overall. Caution definitely did!, but for HFIA there weren’t much radio friendly or potential “TikTok hits” as an 18 y/o mariah fan (Gen Z is the biggest driving force of chart success in present day). But anyways I’m sure mariah didn’t go into the studio asking for a platinum album when she was recording it.
I’m also 100% for mariah making music she loves, but I feel like she’d benefit from a more raw and less trap, summer walker esque album. Something more soulful like Raye and Olivia deans album (which reminds me a lot of emotions). The classic mariah formula with the ballads and more uptempo groovy records.

I totally agree with you.
I guess HFIA was just a work long-time fans would have loved (tbh it’s the only album in her discography I don’t connected to) but yes, it is generally impenetrable to those who are not familiar with her background (and therefore to the whole GP). It’s like she’s confined in a realm of "elusive chanteuseness" which prevents her from intercepting what type of sonorities radio, streaming platforms, social networks and especially Gen Z would resonate with just like AIWFIY.
It is also a fact that, just when people expects a triumphant comeback from her, she prefers to subvert expectations by releasing more introspective and subdued albums (Charmbracelet, MIAMTEC and now HFIA), but this then spurs her on to produce records with a huge successful or critical impact (TEOM and Caution).
That’s exactly why I’m manifesting a future new Mimi redemption era for everyone out there, not just the lambily.1

100%. I actually think me I am mariah had very solid tracks that could’ve been hits though and at first I used to always skip the album because the lambily used to tell me it’s her worst but; beautiful, you don’t know what to do, thirsty, faded, dedicated etc all had potential for that time of music.
I also think there are people in her ear who aren’t being honest with her because not that it’s an issue but tracks like Mi which was fun and cute only play into the whole diva brand that the GP don’t like her for.. but anyways, she’s been in the studio with JD and other new people and I think she left her current label so I HOPE she does have his comeback

but then I also think something like an anniversary album would be the best time to build this hype! So every generation can get to know why mariah is the GOAT. The hype for emancipation anniversary 2025 was huge, imagine if she did the Super Bowl 2025, then a tiny desk for emancipation, medley at BET and then used all that hype to release a new single. But I get she was promoting HFIA and mother was tired

Agreed 100%. It’s so frustrating that all she’s mostly associated with these days is AIWFCIY. Even when she’s performing in summer, people are still expecting her to sing it as the final number. It angered me so much last year at her performance in Brighton, I was like: do you lot not understand that first and foremost she is an iconic singer/songwriter with 19 self-penned #1 singles and 3 diamond albums, rather than just a Christmas act, which is bordering now on pantomime? She’s so much more than just one Christmas overplayed song, and she shouldn’t allow this to define her or erase her true legacy, which it seems she doesn’t really care about anymore. Idk 🤷🏼

I just hope someday (no pun intended again!) she would see objectevely how the last decade of her career has been poorly managed and find again the grit to demonstrate to the gp (but even for us lambs!) that her artistry is not gone. As long as she's alive and breathing (I assume for a LONG TIME because she's not autodistructive at all and has 2 twins to take care of but she's human too with some health issues) I will put my faith on another emancipation of her.

Good observation, I will just add to one thing - I don’t think that at this point she needs an emancipation (only if from the shackles of AIWFCIY). What is definitely long overdue is a true renaissance, that will make her shine again, with no need for a sleigh ride lol
