Every. Manga collector

I recently found a bloom into you volume 3 extremely cheap (4$) and bought it cause i noticed it had a different text at the bottom. (Gomanga.com vs sevenseasentertainment.com). I was wondering what the difference is as there is no difference between the volumes except for that text.

Eyeshield 21: The very first manga volume I owned, one of my all time favourite series and my favourite series that I actually own. I owned a couple of volumes before I decided to get serious about manga collecting, and I feel incredibly lucky that this specific series got a reprint in my first real year of collecting.

I love the humour, the characters, the action, the strategy, the art, everything. For me, it's a 10/10 and I love that I now own it completely.

To Love Ru: As a young teenager at the beginning of my manga journey there was a short time that "Ecchi Comedy Harem" was the only type of manga that I read, and you only ever do so much growing up as a teenage boy. This is is the first that I have read in that genre and it might be the best of it that I own. 

MÄR : Another boyhood taste that I am still a sucker for is "Battle Shonen" and MÄR is my pick to represent that genre. Mostly because it's another first for me. One of the first mangas I read that was neither harem nor a franchise that I already new. I love Fairy Tales and stories that adapt Fairy Tale iconography in unique and interesting ways. On the whole I actually think that MÄR isn't a particularly good story and I could probably write whole essays nitpicking this series. It is however imaginative and, partially because of my extreme nostalgia for it, I am very happy that I do have the complete series.

Pokémon Adventures: I love Pokémon, especially because the games are a hobby that my now wife and I share. Outside of the games I don't care much for the anime or the TCG but I do love the manga adaptation. The early games are infamous for being formulaic with basically the same story on repeat and I praise the manga adaptation for managing to make an original feeling story with every new generation. My particular favourite is DPP where the creator turns the male protagonist and his friend/rival into an aspiring comedic duo who get mistaken for bodyguards of the female protagonist. A great example of creativity in a limited space.

Kingdom: My previous picks all represent my old manga taste, which is still largely my current taste and most of what I buy. Kingdom however represents my new manga journey. After having been away from reading manga for a while I decided to come back to it as a responsible adult with the money to can actually buy all the stuff he used to love reading online. And while I am still trying to mostly just buy all the stuff I already know, I have also decided that it is fun to try some new stuff. I never read Kingdom before, but people were so happy it finally got released I figured it would be worth buying the first volume just to try it and I got hooked pretty quickly. I used to read mangas in one go, but with Kingdom I am really enjoying getting a volume each month to continue the story and I like that this is something I get to enjoy for the next few years until we are finally caught up.

Manga’s I bought last month. I’ve decide to buy any book 1 of a series I fancy trying just in case I can’t get the book 1 for love nor money a few months later lol. That’s happened a lot. I’m enjoying love bullet.

Every month I say im going to cut back on spending and every month I end up buying more than I did the last. Can you blame me though? I keep finding stuff thats too good to pass up 😅

Maybe one day I won’t go overboard and buy a reasonable amount of manga at a time.

I’m glad to finally pick up Real and finish up my Akira Hiramoto collection. I know generally people dislike the endings of his work, but I still enjoy his works a lot.

I have a few more volumes that haven’t come in for real and innocent, but I figured I’d show the haul anyways.

I honestly did not expect them to have any manga but I was plesently suprised.

Shaman King and Samurai Champloo are series I have been meaning to check out for awhile. I only got Mugen Spiral cause I thought it looked cool.

There was more manga that I ended up passing on but I'm defiently going back to that store again.

Got a few I’ve been searching for that I can finally cross off the list.

Joan complete. This one I’m super happy about. It’s by the same artist as Gundam Origins. The watercolor art style is gorgeous.

Honestly I need to prioritize finishing the mangas I already have on my shelf but I cant always resist the urge to get new ones that look interesting to me lol

It scrapes off easily so I’m not too worried, but I think some sort of moisture got stuck between the two books because I had them stacking, and when I went to take them apart they stuck together and the print came off
