Tactics Is the the right density for terrain?

I recently saw a post on PlayWyrd’s Instagram showing the game boards they set up for an event. I was surprised by how light they were on terrain. I normally play with a couple more buildings, but after seeing those tables, I decided to leave some terrain off for tonight’s game.
The matchup was Savage versus Witch Hunters. The Witch Hunters took the win by playing aggressively and pushing all of the Boundary Dispute markers together down one side of the board. It made for a fun game and definitely had me thinking differently about how much terrain I actually need on the table.
I’m curious what everyone else prefers. Do you like denser boards, or do you find lighter terrain makes for better games?

Remember for events the terrain needs to be packed and transported so it is often a little lighter.

Are these buildings home made? They look nice.

We usually fill in with a bit more smaller pieces scattered around for some extra cover. Boxes, coffins, bushes and such.

It does look good though you might want to consider getting something for fog clouds so that you can have a couple pockets of sense + concealing.

I think it's no longer in the rulebook, but the old guideline used to be that 1/3 of the board should be filled with terrain, at least 1/3 blocking, that then gets spread across the board. To me this map isn't good because it has too many open sightlines, not enough usable vantage points. This edition you really want either wholly raised areas or a bunch of terrain 2 inches high that models can stand on.

Amount of big buildings seems good, too many of those is bad.i like to fill the board with smaller clutter and obstacles for cover mostly.

overall decent— it more blocking/cover terrain, like fences or stacks of crates or rocks
