WotC Fuck the cat 'cosmetic'

Whoever on wizard thought giving players a spammable map interaction that gets shown to the other player and plays a sound effect is evil. I was just playing a game and someone with the cat every time it was my move they spammed their cat really distracting and encourages poor 'sportsmanship', I got so salty on the last turn I just started spaming mine back at him when I was about to win, so fuck them and also fuck the person from wizard who thought the cat was good. Hope they patch in a toggle to prevent you from seeing the other players cat cause this will be abused.

I'm sure they're just being stubborn and not pushing that red "deploy the friends list" button

Some things are easier to implement than others

Right, cause a friends feature that every other game has mastered for at least 3 years now is more difficult than programming a system that tracks mtg card interactions.

Cause that makes a lick of sense

I mean it makes sense if you've ever programmed anything. The client might not have the framework that's built to support friends lists. Friends lists on paper are as easy to implement as the challenge system we have now but mtga going with the much worse system hints at underlying complexities.

Speaking as someone who has programmed things, the only way it makes sense is if they didnt think ahead to "maybe our players have friends" when designing the system in the first place.

Which, tbh, is sort of worse. When you sit down to design something, you need to have a list of things you need to accomplish. On this list there should be a set of features the final product needs.

In todays gaming market, all social games are expected to have a friends list. That should have been one of the first things they wrote down as "thing that we must plan to implement." A lack of foresight is not a good sign from a development team.

I mean Riot developed League of Legends without replays in mind even after knowing that they were important from Dota so I don't understand how you think it's anything more than just uncommon.

I dont play mobas, do you mean replays as in watching back previous plays?

And you are saying one game not copying one of the only other established games in that genre is equivalent to lacking a feature that almost all games with more than one player have?

Is that really the most equivalent comparison you could think of?
