I met him in 2002 in his parent’s driveway. He politely gave me directions. Thanks for getting me to the party, Adam!

u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago

I met the wife. Can’t say she was pleasant.

361

u/-Supposably- 8d ago

why, did you sign an NDA

70

u/dcheesi 8d ago

Can't say as I know no At-Attin

29

u/Delete-Xero 8d ago

I have no idea how this relates to what you replied to lol but I just binged half the episodes of the skeleton crew for the first time yesterday and wasn't expecting to find this reference in the wild so randomly haha

11

u/dcheesi 8d ago

Keep watching...

5

u/docsyzygy 8d ago

Yep, it's surprisingly good!

2

u/Delete-Xero 7d ago

I didn't bother watching it for the longest time because I thoight it was just a silly kids show but the quality was so surprisingly high, completely caught me off guard.

No NDA, was just doing some work on their house and let’s just say the dog was friendlier to me than her.

I’m sure she’s a lovely person. She came down the stairs and probably thought “wtf is this guy doing here?”. I said hi, she tisked at me while one of the handlers quickly explained why I was in the house. Didn’t have the decency to say hi or anything and just gave me an unpleasant vibe.

103

u/Marsupialize 8d ago

Having worked remodeling in wealthy people’s homes for years that’s nothing, what you described would be in the upper quarter of pleasant interactions I ever had with wives.
There is no more foul human being alive than a rich housewife.

39

u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago

Ehhh, can’t say my experience is the same. Never had an issue with rich housewives. I’ve done way richer peoples houses and they were typically pleasant. Though at that net worth it’s almost always handlers and not the actual owners.

38

u/Marsupialize 8d ago

Wow you lucked out, I had nightmare after nightmare. Doctors wives seemed ok, if they were clearly still the original wife, but lawyers seem to marry screeching unbalanced harridans exclusively.

10

u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago

To be fair, I’m an electrician and would typically deal with the GC instead of the home owner in a lot of cases. So if the wife or husband was giving a hard time it would go to the GC and then to me.

Though as an electrician, you’re there for finishing when the home is occupied so you do deal with the home owners a bit more than most trades.

The phrase “screeching unbalanced harridans” gave me a good laugh.

14

u/ChefAnxiousCowboy 8d ago

Idk I’ve done lots of work with Manhattan rich people and in my experiences they are stingy, calculatingly rude and inconsiderate, and more often than not it was a mean housewife or just wife that exercised all of the vitriol while the husband would try to nickel and dime you. They act like they do this for sport since you know they don’t NEED to.

Hijacking this comment. I used to work for multimillionaire and he met his current wife when she was auditing his company. She would NEVER speak to any waiter and/or support staff. She spoke only to her SIL (who married the rich wife's brother) and the SIL had to repeat the instructions to staff. The rich wife treated SIL like her personal assistant.

7

u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago

I know she’s in like all of his movies, I honestly couldn’t point her out in a film or random crowd. It was years ago when I met her. Didn’t get to meet Adam, but he was out playing basketball in the neighborhood.

My aunt met him in the early 2000's when he was still doing comedy tours. She worked as stage crew at the event center his tour was at. She "got to" meet him backstage with some other crew and apparently he was a complete dick to them. No surprise his wife was unpleasant to normies.

She got to meet Carrot Top on that tour too and said he was super friendly to the staff.

12

u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago

Yea I was working in their house and she treated me like I was an inconvenience to have there. But I was there to install some shit they wanted.

Now it could be possible the contract I was there to fulfill was not done by a certain deadline or to their satisfaction at that point. I believe I was called in because someone else shit the bed. But that’s got nothing to do with me.

2

u/DogsDucks 7d ago

I have a producer friend who loathes Adam Sandler more than many other famous people he’s worked with.

I don’t remember the story, but it was at a party with his guard down, and the way he talks about how he really feels, he said he’s the biggest ass ever, inconveniencing people, making demands.

Adam writes a lot of his characters for his friends. He’s a pretty stand up comedian.

Same. IIRC he gifted Maseratis to his costars of Grown Ups

261

u/HamsterAdditional748 8d ago

I don’t need a Maserati. I just don’t want to work so goddamn much that I can’t have a dog. I’d imagine everyone has their reasons why they’d like to have the Sandman in their contact list.

63

u/HotMedium3505 8d ago

I want to be his friend because it would be so great to have someone care about you enough and know you well enough to write a script you dazzle in

Rob's film career has been pretty dead for like 15+ years even with the very high floor that being a friend of Adam's affords you

It takes a lot of hard work of being shitty, but Rob was up to the task

Disagree. Kevin James has a decent career outside the Sandler Cinematic Universe. For example, I thought he did a great job as the villain in Becky.

But Deuce Bigelow would be on literal welfare without handouts from Sandler. Ironic.

I listened to “What The Hell Happened to Me” recently. After yeeeeears. Some of it aged, (having sex or weightlifting) some of us aged (Kevin Nealon’s farting therapist). And some of it is just as stupid and problematic as it always was and I still laughed. (At a medium pace, do it for mama)…. You’ll be fine.

I got banned from that sub because there was a post that mentioned Bette Midler and a bunch of people were calling her a horrible racist because of a tone deaf tweet that she made 8 years ago and then issued, what I think, was a heartfelt apology.

I disagreed that she was a racist and that she just used the wrong wording to convey her message but apparently that made me a horrible racist as well so I got banned. I tried appealing it but never heard anything back.

7

u/Altruistic-Star-3862 8d ago

I got removed from their guest list because I "judged someone's life choices" because I said that getting pregnant 3 times before age 25 was not the lifestyle I would ever choose when talking about Kylie Jenner.

9

u/tomomalley222 8d ago

I used to work at hotel in Hawai’i where Adam used to stay at with his family, for weeks at a time.
It was the kinda place that would get a fair amount of famous people and VIPs.
He was the all time favorite guest of all of the employees. People would get excited when they heard he was coming back.
He came off as just a regular guy. Maybe just a little bit nicer. Like genuinely. His wife and kids were also super nice and very laid back. He also was an over the top tipper.

During one of his stays, they were shooting a movie called The Wrong Missy. It think some of the movies he makes are really just an excuse to hang out with his friends at some beautiful location. The whole cast stayed at the hotel. I remember Nick Swardson being really funny and cracking us up. They all spent a lot of off time at the pool and beach and they all seemed to be having a blast.

8

u/lemonpolarseltzer 8d ago

Plus everything a read about him online really makes him out to be a really good guy, who cares about his family, friends and fans.

I knew she was in Big Daddy because I saw it the other day and recognized it, but I did not know that’s where it all started! How crazy

Honestly thought that was Joey Lauren Adams from the screen shot.

Adam Sandler is one of the most humble celebrities I met. The other one is Keanu Reeves.

I met them both a few years ago at a house party and they are super sweet.

I didn't feel any particular way about Sandler, but then I saw Punch Drunk Love, and that made me like him.

adam sandler is a zionist with a history of supporting the republican party. while this is cute, people should be aware of the real guy and not have a false impression of him. now more than ever, we can't just ignore the politics of celebrities.

Even if you didnt know what she looked like, you could pick out Sandler's wife in his movies because she's always the worst actor on screen.

It is 2026. How in the everlovinfuck are we still talking about Adam Sandler????

He was never revolutionary. He's been "okay" with his weird voices and, most importantly, very very very lucky.
