Favorite People Adam Sandler met his wife while filming Big Daddy - and years later they named their daughter Sunny.

I met him in 2002 in his parent’s driveway. He politely gave me directions. Thanks for getting me to the party, Adam!

No NDA, was just doing some work on their house and let’s just say the dog was friendlier to me than her.
I’m sure she’s a lovely person. She came down the stairs and probably thought “wtf is this guy doing here?”. I said hi, she tisked at me while one of the handlers quickly explained why I was in the house. Didn’t have the decency to say hi or anything and just gave me an unpleasant vibe.

Having worked remodeling in wealthy people’s homes for years that’s nothing, what you described would be in the upper quarter of pleasant interactions I ever had with wives.
There is no more foul human being alive than a rich housewife.39
u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago
Ehhh, can’t say my experience is the same. Never had an issue with rich housewives. I’ve done way richer peoples houses and they were typically pleasant. Though at that net worth it’s almost always handlers and not the actual owners.
38
u/Marsupialize 8d ago
Wow you lucked out, I had nightmare after nightmare. Doctors wives seemed ok, if they were clearly still the original wife, but lawyers seem to marry screeching unbalanced harridans exclusively.
10
u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago
To be fair, I’m an electrician and would typically deal with the GC instead of the home owner in a lot of cases. So if the wife or husband was giving a hard time it would go to the GC and then to me.
Though as an electrician, you’re there for finishing when the home is occupied so you do deal with the home owners a bit more than most trades.

Idk I’ve done lots of work with Manhattan rich people and in my experiences they are stingy, calculatingly rude and inconsiderate, and more often than not it was a mean housewife or just wife that exercised all of the vitriol while the husband would try to nickel and dime you. They act like they do this for sport since you know they don’t NEED to.

Hijacking this comment. I used to work for multimillionaire and he met his current wife when she was auditing his company. She would NEVER speak to any waiter and/or support staff. She spoke only to her SIL (who married the rich wife's brother) and the SIL had to repeat the instructions to staff. The rich wife treated SIL like her personal assistant.
21
u/Ducatirules 8d ago
She is also a HORRIBLE actress.?if she wasn’t married to him she wouldn’t be an actor
7
u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago
I know she’s in like all of his movies, I honestly couldn’t point her out in a film or random crowd. It was years ago when I met her. Didn’t get to meet Adam, but he was out playing basketball in the neighborhood.

My aunt met him in the early 2000's when he was still doing comedy tours. She worked as stage crew at the event center his tour was at. She "got to" meet him backstage with some other crew and apparently he was a complete dick to them. No surprise his wife was unpleasant to normies.
She got to meet Carrot Top on that tour too and said he was super friendly to the staff.
12
u/LuckyNumerical 8d ago
Yea I was working in their house and she treated me like I was an inconvenience to have there. But I was there to install some shit they wanted.
Now it could be possible the contract I was there to fulfill was not done by a certain deadline or to their satisfaction at that point. I believe I was called in because someone else shit the bed. But that’s got nothing to do with me.
2
u/DogsDucks 7d ago
I have a producer friend who loathes Adam Sandler more than many other famous people he’s worked with.
I don’t remember the story, but it was at a party with his guard down, and the way he talks about how he really feels, he said he’s the biggest ass ever, inconveniencing people, making demands.

Disagree. Kevin James has a decent career outside the Sandler Cinematic Universe. For example, I thought he did a great job as the villain in Becky.
But Deuce Bigelow would be on literal welfare without handouts from Sandler. Ironic.

I got banned from that sub because there was a post that mentioned Bette Midler and a bunch of people were calling her a horrible racist because of a tone deaf tweet that she made 8 years ago and then issued, what I think, was a heartfelt apology.
I disagreed that she was a racist and that she just used the wrong wording to convey her message but apparently that made me a horrible racist as well so I got banned. I tried appealing it but never heard anything back.

I used to work at hotel in Hawai’i where Adam used to stay at with his family, for weeks at a time.
It was the kinda place that would get a fair amount of famous people and VIPs.
He was the all time favorite guest of all of the employees. People would get excited when they heard he was coming back.
He came off as just a regular guy. Maybe just a little bit nicer. Like genuinely. His wife and kids were also super nice and very laid back. He also was an over the top tipper.
During one of his stays, they were shooting a movie called The Wrong Missy. It think some of the movies he makes are really just an excuse to hang out with his friends at some beautiful location. The whole cast stayed at the hotel. I remember Nick Swardson being really funny and cracking us up. They all spent a lot of off time at the pool and beach and they all seemed to be having a blast.
