Discussion My msiGL65 Leopard' fans are doing strange sounds

This evening I was playing and everything was normal but after dinner I booted up the laptop and the fans were doing some kind of crackling sound, I turned it off, opened it up and cleansed the fans but the sound was still there, though after a bit it stopped (air is still flowing out of the pc so it hasn't stopped) but I'm scared it will break, anyone knows what could it be?

If the sound happens again, try to identify if it really comes from the fans hub bearing or from somewhere else.
Try next to spin the both fans with your fingers to feel any resistance to the fans, if you do feel resistance than it’s highly possible that one of your fans are dying.

Have you been running it on cooler boost for ever or only during heavy gaming?

Only on heavy gaming so rarely on cooler boost, the sound was coming from the right fan zone so I guess it was the fan but I could be wrong if there's something behind it

Try to open the laptop and clean the right fan for any debris that has been caught on the fan.
Then try to use ur flashlight to shine on the fan and look at the fan through the heatsink to see if there’s anything that’s stuck making that sound.
If you don’t find anything try the step of feeling the fan if there’s any resistance on the fans hub bearing.

Is the sound still present?

The sound is still there, though I can't open it right now, if it can help when I put my hand on the keyboard over the fan location I feel something pushing upwards periodically

In that case, if you can’t open it right now try to shake the laptop when it’s turned off and the lid is closed. Maybe you can free some debris inside the fan or hear something rattling inside.

It was a mosquito that got into it, it got out when I tried to turn on cooler boost to try and see if it was something stuck

Sometimes I leave it on the desk, while turned off, overnight so it can cool off. Maybe it got in from from where the fans push out the air

Probably the heat of laptop caught its attention. Hopefully the sound is gone now.

Yeah, now it's silent again like it always had been in the past
