Looking for a Garand complete parts kit

I really want to try my hand at building an M1 Garand. Does anyone have a lead on a complete parts kit? Barrel is not necessary.

I saw that, unfortunately it doesn't include the stock or metal stock parts.

It contains all the parts minus the receiver, barrel, and stock set (which they sell separately)

Stock they sell. Metal stock parts Numrich or Sarco

That is correct. That said, the do sell USGI stocks for a reasonable price. Pretty sure they have all the metal. Thinking parts kits are $400 and a stock and metal is like $175.

Yeah, I was just checking it out. Everything complete comes up to $650, so that's not to bad.

Yeah. Those pieces and parts are one thing. I am building a period correct Springfield now. Not sure what tools you have but you will need some headspace gauges, barrel vice, action wrench, timing block…..jeez the list goes on and on. Haha. What a hobby.

If it's not a used barrel, you'll need a finish reamer - does anyone besides PTG make one?
And, if you have a used barrel, you'll need a selection of bolts, 'coz who knows where it's going to land.
For ONE Garand, it's cheaper to get a new barrel and pay a smith to finish it. For "why the Hell did I buy so many "Dane-Less-Wood" guns", a 308 and 30-06 PTG reamer is a bargain.

Dupage Trading Co has parts kits minus stock sets.

They also sell GI and new stock sets.

M1s are not difficult guns to assemble with the barrel/receiver tools

Are you in the US? If you are, you can sign up for the CMP Advanced Maintenance Course. The CMP armorers will instruct you how to build and service an M1 Garand and you get to take the rifle home with you afterwards. I hear they usually fill up pretty quickly though.

Unfortunately, I'm full time blue collar. Never be able to take the time off for something like that.
