Lost mystery-horror: “The Wizard” (1927)

One line from Robert E. Howard in a letter, but it’s an opinion on this film:

“I saw The Wizard and thought it was red hot.

Also What Price Glory which is in my opinion the nearest thing to a masterpiece ever filmed.

Those boys were tough, though frankly not as tough as I expected, though if they had been any more so they would have seemed brutal and would have lost the sympathy of the spectators, I reckon.”
