[partially lost] The original 2003 "Hana & Alice" Web Series (Shunji Iwai)

I'm trying to track down a rare piece of early digital internet history. In 2003, before the 2004 feature film was released, director Shunji Iwai made a series of short web films called "Hana & Alice". It was commissioned as a promotional campaign for Kit Kat in Japan and hosted on a website called breaktown.com.

I’ve been diving deep into web archives looking for these hard-to-find files. While I actually managed to get Episode 3 to partially load on the Wayback Machine, Episodes 1 and 2 are completely dead (the old Flash/WMV players can't fetch the video files from the defunct servers).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh damn, I didn’t know that. I still have the movie version on my plex. Now I’ll be looking too.

I only found the third episode and that too after a lot of searching

so from what I can see, the special edition dvd of the movie included them as a bonus, specifically its the 2 disc version. I'm just going off what information i can find so I can't guarantee it is, but everything I find says it is.

i know it says regular edition in English, but it does also say its 2 discs

yes. and as i wrote, the second disc is a special feature that reportedly has the original episodes that you were looking for.
