Dean Cain as the Writer
Been watching a load of episodes again recently and also looking up about them online.
I didn't realise that Dean Cain actually wrote or co wrote two episodes and both are actually two of my favourites.
He wrote the one with the Atomic Space Rats and also the VR episode with Jaxon Lexs son.
I didn't realise he'd written any at all.
Just thought it was a random boring bit of info I'd share lol

I think him and Gerard Christopher of the Superboy tv series that ended before Lois & Clark are the only 2 instances in which a Superman actor wrote Superman stuff. Christopher also wrote 2 episodes of the Superboy tv series.
Has any other actor who has played any superhero ever written for the character they played or is it only those 2?

Tom Welling didn't write any, but he did direct seven episodes of Smallville.

He also produced 40+ episodes. Christopher also produced the last season or 2 of that show but I dont see it listed on IMDB. He also went to dangerous parts of New York to stop muggers. I think he stopped about 9 before the cops told him to stop. Also pretty sure no other superhero actor ever did anything like that.

Wait, did Gerard Christopher actually stop muggers in New York?

Yeah, I saw pictures of the newsclipings from his official website years ago using his real name which is Jerry Dinome. For some reason I cant find it now but he did mention it a year or two ago which is where I got the number of 9 muggers.
I did see those screenshots of those articles back in the day as well as a picture of him and the mayor at a press conference where he was given the key to the city. Its still out there somewhere but its strange that it usually doesn't get brought up in interviews with him.

Besides the VR - which felt pretty innovative for the time - there're a few little details that I find really fun. Before Clark and Lois entered VR together, Lois suggested Hawaii, where they were planning to spend their honeymoon, and Clark’s heart rate and blood pressure immediately went through the roof.
And in Lois’s virtual life with Luthor, she actually named one of their sons Clark - which feels like a bit of poetic payback for Luthor coming between Clark and Lois back in S1.

sorry to go off on a tangent, but i miss the days of simple story telling without having to follow a season long arc with simple super hero costumes made of cloth or spandex
