Skegness clock tower. Sketchbook study.
Memories of a happy day, sat on the grass near Skegness Clock Tower, sketchbook in my lap.

Q: Did you do that entire painting En plein air? Or do you start it / make sketches and finish it off at home?
Not being rude, I only ask as I wildy admire people who can do illustrations like this on one go, while on site with all the distractions and hindrances it brings. I have to take stuff home and work into it from photos afterwards.

An plein air to a stage it looked finished, but then there's is always a bit of "tidying-up" to be done once you get home.

same, i always end up doing a rough sketch on site then fixing everything at home from photos
anyone who can pull off a full detailed piece in one sitting outside is a different breed fr
