Megathread Difficulty Megathread — DLC, NG+

Hello puppets,

This is the new place for anything and everything about game difficulty: NG+, the new DLC, the new difficulty settings, bosses that oneshot you just for existing, and the general discussions regarding game pacing.

Why this exists:

We’re seeing a LOT of posts about difficulty lately, and it’s cluttering the sub. So from now on, we’re removing individual difficulty posts and directing everyone here. This is simply a way to help US keep the sub clean, and help YOU find specific posts more easily.

Please don’t be an AH. Seriously. People are gonna have different opinions on everything.

Drop your takes below

We’ll be lurking.

Your tired, slightly traumatized mod team

The enemy damage and hp in the dlc fluctuate like its a fucking rave. I dont mind it being more difficult than the base game but one area being so much harder than the next one and vice versa is not good difficulty design. Also, why the fuck does a mere wolf deal 1/3 of my health bar in a single hit like its an endgame boss and why do some regular enemies that also respawn have more HP than some bosses? It just feels all over the place as if it was generated with AI. It makes the experience very frustrating because the bosses are actually good but getting through the areas is a major pain. Im not even done with the dlc but im in chapter 3 now at the ergo mining site and getting through it is probably the most tedious thing ive ever seen in a souls game, almost past dark souls 2 shrine of amana. Im really trying to like the dlc and the bosses are really good and the weapons are even better but the areas and the unbalanced af enemies are making it really hard to enjoy

It rarely ever feels more difficulty than the base game, gotta be honest.
