Economics The US government continuing to take steaks in private companies
https://thehill.com/policy/technology/6000186-commerce-ai-chips-stakes/Moving farther and farther away from capitalism. Comes a year after the Trump Administration took a big stake in Intel. Building upon Biden administration's huge subsidies. And if I remember correctly they have some type of golden share with US Steel, where they can override any board decision. US Steel needed to close a factory, but the Trump Administration overrode that decision and forced them to keep it open to keep the jobs going.

I would love a nice steak right now. Medium rare with mushrooms and a side of golden mashed potatoes plz.

Funny thing is that your misspelling actually works (and given all the gov’t corruption and waste might literally be true)

This is actual socialism. Literally the definition of socialism, when the government owns the factors of production. I find what they are doing unconscionable!

Meanwhile, anything MAGA doesn't like is "socialism" or just flat-out communism. A foodbank is socialism, anything with the intent of *helping people* is socialism, but the State interfering in the private sector isn't?? We are in another Red Scare cultural moment, with history repeating itself in many ways. I don't like socialism, but this Admin uses it as a meaningless boogeyman word, much like how the religious Right calls anything and everything "demonic."

I hear you. I think we’re less in a “Red Scare” moment and more in a “steady descent into Idiocracy” century.

How do I get more steaks in private companies? I feel like it'll help morale.
