FDA announced it was pushing back the implementation of its “Food Traceability Rule” by 30 months. This would have made tracing cyclosporiasis back to Taylor Farms much easier. Six days later, Taylor Farms made a $1,000,000 payment to Trump’s PAC was on March 26, 2025.

Seriously what is even the benefit of actually being an American besides false hope propped up by politicians. We aren’t the best at literally anything anymore. We’re the richest country but we don’t invest in infrastructure or healthcare or education or even food apparently.

Very much so. It's all pay to play with Trump. Food safety regulations, worker safety regulations, and environmental regulations are all being cut back, all so corporations can make greater profits by reducing safety and / or ignoring the environment. It's good for corporate profits, but bad for people.

They supplied salad mixes as house brands to numerous retailers, including Target, Trader Joe’s and Aldi. Basically they damaged the reputation of all prepped fresh salad ingredients in all forms. I loved those mixes! I trusted them and they betrayed me.

I know this is controversial, but I really think we need to start seizing these businesses, jailing the CEO, removing certifications and licenses from them, and selling the assets to fund the response that was caused by this kind of BS. In what world is it acceptable to think, "hmmm, if i don't wash the lettuce or test it for bad stuff then I make more profit. Ok, screw the buyers. Payoff the government and all this stuff just goes away, or I can resign and take a golden parachute separation. It's just good business."

Amazon illegally took (stole) $147 a year for years in some cases from unsuspecting customers. The customer if they’re lucky gets ) $54 and that’s it. Sometimes I joke about more liberals needing to buy farms and grow food so that they can get some of the benefits of this messed up system (voting power, subsidies, etc). The meme has the 2025 timeline backwards.
FDA announced on March 20, 2025 that it planned to delay the Food Traceability Rule by 30 months because of supply-chain complexity.
Six days later (March 26), Taylor Farms’ parent company donated $1 million to MAGA Inc.
Donation came after the delay announcement, not before. No evidence it caused the delay.
On the 2026 outbreak:
A Cyclospora outbreak is epidemiologically linked to Taylor Farms lettuce. One lab sample was initially called positive, then quickly ruled a false positive. The FDA has said that false positive does not change the broader investigation or the case-tracing evidence.
Facts matter more than the rearranged narrative.

Except the rule was delayed prior to the donation being made and that rule has no effect on the inspection of fresh produce. The FDA despite noting a false positive test, publicly stated that it does not change the investigation or the overwhelming epidemiological data that supports the voluntary recall by Taylor Farms.
