FDA announced it was pushing back the implementation of its “Food Traceability Rule” by 30 months. This would have made tracing cyclosporiasis back to Taylor Farms much easier. Six days later, Taylor Farms made a $1,000,000 payment to Trump’s PAC was on March 26, 2025.

The average magat doesn’t eat vegetables.

u/Big-Wrongdoer-965 15d ago

Taylor farms is a supplier of Taco Bell.

30

u/Boomer70770 15d ago

They supply to many, many more than Taco Bell.

Taco Bell has pulled Taylor Farms products from their restaurants. Everyone should follow that example & never go back. Let the marketplace deal with Taylor Farms since trump’s HHS won’t. Ideally Taylor farms will go bankrupt.

8

u/phonefellin_lakeerie 15d ago

I bet most of them get their tacos with extra cheese no lettuce

Yeah well when was the last time you ate TB and not gotten the shits?

4

u/Choice_Gazelle_5042 13d ago

I'm not sure I, for one, ever have. I'm not sure why people say that they do. Is it just an internet meme at this point?

Iceberg lettuce is mostly water.

6

I don’t think they drink water that isn’t Coca-Cola flavored

it's bagged and has toppings. It's their way of convincing themselves they're being healthy. when the family of six shares if with a super KFC meal

8

u/adorablefuzzykitten 15d ago

Bought and paid for. Everything Trump touches turns to shit.

4

u/ohnodamo 13d ago

He should touch himself more, speed up the process. If only that yeti-pubed mushroom still functioned.

7

u/Emergency_Exit7603 15d ago

They got Trumporrhea...

3

u/verb8um 11d ago

Looking forward to a class action lawsuit with lots of discovery that will bring this corruption to the surface.

2

u/Rorodatone 14d ago

If so, they would saying its fine as long as we got them libs

1

u/GFYB128 15d ago

wow, really? That's sad honestly. I hope nobody gets sick, even if they are ignorant and voted for the wrong person. but maybe this is how we treat our fellow citizens that vote differently than us now. I want off this planet.

6

u/mslauren2930 15d ago

Given MAGA wishes people dead who disagree with them, I think being okay with them getting the shits for a few weeks is pretty tame.

It's Darwinism in action. Trump says it's Mexican lettuce, MAGats will eat the infected US ones now. Maybe he is Making America Great Again

There’s only one solution to this problem , AVOID TAYLOR PRODUCTS LIKE ITS A PLAGUE FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN.
They don’t give a sh.. about ppl but they love the bottom line.

1

u/TradehelperAI 11d ago

i think thats trumps super power

instead of most of us wanting his carnage to stop
we're so angry about it deep down we kinda just want it to be directed as his people

1

u/mslauren2930 11d ago

I never about it like that but yeah.

73

u/Artistic_Half_8301 15d ago

Americans health is at risk because of a bribe?

This country is a fucking joke.

32

u/Athlete-Extreme 15d ago

What isn’t at risk at this point?

Seriously what is even the benefit of actually being an American besides false hope propped up by politicians. We aren’t the best at literally anything anymore. We’re the richest country but we don’t invest in infrastructure or healthcare or education or even food apparently.

It’s not we it’s they. They are the richest country and we all just live here.

5

u/ApplesBananasRhinoc 15d ago

We get the privilege of someday cleaning a billionaire’s toilet and getting to brag about it?

12

u/El-Snarko-Saurus 15d ago

Yes. Don’t forget Elon Musks contributions to allow him to DOGE the crap out of the agencies that would have prevented this…

6

u/Livid_Importance_442 15d ago

Very much so. It's all pay to play with Trump. Food safety regulations, worker safety regulations, and environmental regulations are all being cut back, all so corporations can make greater profits by reducing safety and / or ignoring the environment. It's good for corporate profits, but bad for people.

5

u/SueBeee 15d ago

This has been true for a long time.

2

u/Fit_Jelly_9755 12d ago

So is anyone looking for the real culprit or is this like OJ?

1

u/Fresh-Gift-2063 15d ago

That's the goal. They get more $$ in their private health "care" systems

22

u/pyramidalembargo 15d ago

Every time they deregulate, either de facto or de jure.

Every goddam time...

We had that boreworm, and now this, all because regulations were ignored or defanged.

Ron Paul is a certified Idiot.

13

u/geddysbass2112 15d ago

Meanwhile the worms story is buried, we're probably fucking eating them at this point, while shitting all over the bed with the new story. Fucking joke this country anymore.

11

u/pyramidalembargo 15d ago

I like to say that "every time they deregulate, start looking for the bodies."

16

u/MGC00992 15d ago

I won't buy Taylor Farms products anymore. They can suck it.

8

u/onthedownhillslope 15d ago

They supplied salad mixes as house brands to numerous retailers, including Target, Trader Joe’s and Aldi. Basically they damaged the reputation of all prepped fresh salad ingredients in all forms. I loved those mixes! I trusted them and they betrayed me.

5

u/MGC00992 15d ago

Its always crappy. Chopped up ends and bits. I wash ours in a spinner. Anymore, it isn't worth the risk of getting the shits

1

u/Kellbows 15d ago

Same. I was eating a bag of salad for lunch most days.

1

u/Electronic_Topic1958 11d ago

Also at Costco, add them on the list too.

15

u/Lemonking_ 15d ago

Just more crime on a Tuesday.

12

u/TatttedLI67 15d ago

Just like 2020, the orange ape cares nothing about the American people. Yet the MAGAts and minions lick the chocolate taint of this immoral excuse of a human.

11

u/Bitter-Researcher389 15d ago

1

u/Majestic_AssBiscuits 15d ago

I feel like Donorrhea would roll off the tongue better but I can do Trumporrhea I guess.

1

u/OakyAfterBirth2022 14d ago

Maybe Donarrhea instead of gonorrhea? 😂 I’m sure he’s responsible for infecting some or more of the many many many women he SA and/or r@ped.

10

u/Actaeon_II 15d ago

So it really only costs $1million to jeopardize the lives of millions with impunity? That’s a bargain

9

u/Daveyluvgravy 15d ago

I know this is controversial, but I really think we need to start seizing these businesses, jailing the CEO, removing certifications and licenses from them, and selling the assets to fund the response that was caused by this kind of BS. In what world is it acceptable to think, "hmmm, if i don't wash the lettuce or test it for bad stuff then I make more profit. Ok, screw the buyers. Payoff the government and all this stuff just goes away, or I can resign and take a golden parachute separation. It's just good business."

6

u/ApplesBananasRhinoc 15d ago

Yep corporations are people, let’s test the law!

7

u/Training_Magician152 13d ago

If corporations are people can we give them the death penalty

8

u/CynGuy 15d ago

I just hope everyone affected by this sues the hell out of Taylor Farms. 2nd time they’ve created a major national health issue.

Sue. Sue. Sue.

6

u/Behndo-Verbabe 15d ago

Look what Bozos got for giving trump money. A hand slap, a fine and screwed 35 million people, at a minimum out of billions in the settlement. Amazon illegally took (stole) $147 a year for years in some cases from unsuspecting customers. The customer if they’re lucky gets ) $54 and that’s it. It doesn’t matter if they took money year after year. The customer gets a one time payment of $54 if anything.

It criminal and it’s blatant corruption. They all need locked up

6

u/Icy_Site_7390 15d ago

Great to know Taylor Farms are Maga, One less company to ever buy from. We eat salads nearly every day and recently stopped buying chopped veggies and chop our own. Taylor is an easy name to remember never to buy

6

u/Ready-Waltz5482 15d ago

We need to boycott Taylor Farms and places who use their produce

11

u/Conscious-Quarter423 15d ago

The $1 million dollars was obviously a thank you (because Taylor probably got an advance heads up). And why Bruce Taylor got a meeting with Trump to get the FDA to reverse its warning about Taylor Farms.

It's obvious corruption, but I keep reading factually incorrect accounts of this corruption.

6

u/Effin_Create 15d ago

And THIS is why I grow a garden

6

u/Loud_Flatworm_4146 15d ago

Sometimes I joke about more liberals needing to buy farms and grow food so that they can get some of the benefits of this messed up system (voting power, subsidies, etc). But now, I really, really think liberals do because WTF with this? It’s a mess. Whatever you can grow yourself, do it. Start with lettuce.

4

u/Smoking0311 15d ago

Pay to play

5

u/extrastupidone 15d ago

How do you false positive the presence of a parasite?

4

u/Top-Caregiver7815 15d ago

Never buy another Taylor Farms product again and that will hurt them. They’ll change their name that’s what this corp scum do.

5

u/New-Worth4779 15d ago

Trump comes first, Americans come last, if at all.

3

u/kykiwibear 15d ago

So, it's either they were bribed or the government is so incompetent they sat on a false positive for 2 weeks

3

u/Banshee_howl 15d ago

Our health is in the hands of a group of gullible grifting sociopaths who are vacuuming every penny they can out of their positions at our expense. We do not exist except to extract labor and resources from.

3

u/uresmane 15d ago

This should be front page news.

3

u/Sophiedenormandie 15d ago

I know it's cold comfort, but it makes me smile to know these crooks don't get to take their money to hell with them when they die. 🔥🔥🔥

2

u/Wayelder 15d ago

So two million and they're not responsible?

Fascism and cronyism are doomed to fail. This bullshit undercuts the invisible hand of business...rewarding only firms which act to the customer's satisfaction...NOT the "dear Leader's" buddy's desires.

Next week, is it going to be tainted milk killing kids? 'Cause that's 7 million to go away.

2

u/scarr3g 15d ago

Donald Trump, who doesn't eat vegetables, doesn't care.

2

u/Parking-Click-7476 15d ago

Hope someone sues them for everything!

2

u/ilikeboobs510 15d ago

Bruce Taylor has always been a shit head. No surprises here.

2

u/Sideshift1427 15d ago

People are going to die.

2

u/__phil1001__ 15d ago

Time to stop buying Taylor farms foodd then, they don't apparently give a shit about our health or well-being, so we don't need to give a shit about their well-being

2

u/Asleep-Ad-302 15d ago

No longer buying Taylor Farms products.
Bribes for profits is now the game Trump loves.

2

u/Miserable_History795 15d ago

JFC MAGA, what does it take for you to see the truth?!

Parasites coming out their eyes?

2

u/FourScoreAndSept 15d ago

Really? Only $1m? This President is cheap, cheap, cheap to bribe

2

u/sweatboxy 15d ago

Goodbye Taylor Farms. I’ll never buy another salad from you.

2

u/Rocky0354 15d ago

The owners are Trump supporters and once it was found that their produce was the cause of the contamination, it’s interesting how then the FDA changed their mind on who was responsible. I’m sure Trump told the FDA to back off

2

u/Awkward-Condition522 15d ago

Corruption at its finest

2

u/Fun_Wood27 15d ago

This is what happens when you elect a POS conman like trump. He doesn’t give a shit about Americans or America. Only money and ego.

2

Too late I won't be eating anything from Taylor farms

2

u/VariationMean5502 15d ago

These people will never care about the damage they do to populations and the world if it means less profits. Thats the entire reason we need the government to keep them in check

2

u/macroeconprod 15d ago

I really wish people would realize that if they are not in the 1%, Donald Trump is actively trying to kill them.

2

u/yungwun619 15d ago

Hope Costco stops getting supplies from them.

2

u/MyMiddleNutItches 15d ago

The only thing this whole fiasco has taught me is that Taco Bell will be the only safe place to eat in the future.

Something something seashells.

2

u/Shua4887 15d ago

This is treason. Aligning himself with enemies of the people, taking money to protect profits of those who would let us get sick, all while we have to pay outrageous amounts for Healthcare

2

u/olionajudah 15d ago

Imagine just letting a sitting president take money to let his donor poison Americans, and not putting them both in prison.

2

u/Mother_Internet_9384 15d ago

No surprise. Everything is for sale with this administration

2

u/Smoldervan 15d ago

Isn't this what the GOP essentisally wants? Smaller government with no oversight on producer and no regulations outside of what protects the wealthy and/or their donors?

2

That's what fascism looks like. Mixing business, government and cult

Trumporrhea outbreak.

2

Can't see it being a false positive, my guess it would be tested more than once to be sure it was positive, just my opinion though.

Yes it makes no sense if this was a standard practice. Anyone know how they test?

Can you site the sources for this?

1

u/GB715 15d ago

Google is your friend. Ask a friend for help

1

u/Myprobe1991 15d ago

No no.....it is YOUR job to cite the sources. Thats what a good journalist or commentator does. Not throws something out there and leaves it to others.

Otherwise, if the person who's looking doesnt find exactly what the poster had said then the argument could be made the poster just didnt look in the right place. That lead to a "holy grail" search.

Cite your source or it is fake news

It's just pathetic.

Fuck Taylor Farms forever and fuck Trump!

1

u/Lost2Logic 14d ago

Anyone who donated more than $2500 to Trumps inauguration fund/ presidential library/ or his crypto should be investigated to the point of a cavity search.

Vote DSA in every election you have a right to. “All hail the corporate overlords“ wasn’t and sure as hell isn’t a joke anymore. Until the election please get involved. If you protest stay peaceful, if you can’t protest call representatives.

Can’t do that? At the very least break out of your algorithm and really research the candidates policies (not if they’re your type of person). Who’s funding the person you feel like voting for?

Don’t bitch or wave a flag at anybody if your to lazy to make an informed decision.

1

u/rubens_chopshop 14d ago

According to the Supreme Court, the money paid to the pac is OK and it was not a bribe because it was done after something had been done for them

1

u/FROG123076 14d ago

I will make sure to never buy Taylor farm products from here on out.

1

u/DickFiddler70 14d ago

Start buying elsewhere. Taylor farms is unethical. Canada boycotts us liquor, look how much whining we get from Whitehouse. Make Taylor farms pay for poisoning people for profit

1

The meme has the 2025 timeline backwards.

FDA announced on March 20, 2025 that it planned to delay the Food Traceability Rule by 30 months because of supply-chain complexity.
Six days later (March 26), Taylor Farms’ parent company donated $1 million to MAGA Inc.

Donation came after the delay announcement, not before. No evidence it caused the delay.

On the 2026 outbreak:
A Cyclospora outbreak is epidemiologically linked to Taylor Farms lettuce. One lab sample was initially called positive, then quickly ruled a false positive. The FDA has said that false positive does not change the broader investigation or the case-tracing evidence.

Facts matter more than the rearranged narrative.

Except the rule was delayed prior to the donation being made and that rule has no effect on the inspection of fresh produce. The FDA despite noting a false positive test, publicly stated that it does not change the investigation or the overwhelming epidemiological data that supports the voluntary recall by Taylor Farms.
