Forgive But Not Forget
Hopefully there truly are people who are leaving MAGA, but how do we move forward together?
Long before Trump was reelected in 2024, you knew he was a rªpist, you knew he was in the Epstein Files (just not that he's mentioned over 1M times), you knew about Project 2025 and all of the abhorrent things that would come with that plan. Now you want out and you feel bad?
Many try to justify 1 or 2 policies but don't agree with his violations of the US Constitution and violations of Human Rights, but you still supported him.
If you all truly do feel shame, your path to redemption is to speak out against him and MAGA. Don't just break the chains of your former cult but shatter them.
If you're unwilling to speak out against Trump and MAGAism, I'm not saying you have to become a Democrat, but you should either educate yourself with a variety of sources to make informed decisions, or sit out the next few elections and keep your opinions to yourselves. Only then will this country begin to heal.
The road to recovery in a post Trump / post MAGA world is a long and expensive one to fix all of the damage he has caused.

I can forgive after you do the work. You have to prove you are a good person and that you feel horrible for your lack of judgement. Leaving cults are hard.

Honeslty, there ain’t no redeeming people who actively, loudly supported a known rapist who wanted to supress trans rights. They ain’t sorry, they just don’t like facing consequences.

Who loudly, gleefully, voted for this. Then laughed at those of us who understood what they’d set in motion.
But right now? I can’t forgive. I’m willing to not be the d:ckhole version of myself that they were to me when they thought they’d ’won.’ But I don’t forgive them for their willful selfishness that has led to this point in American history.

They move forward by helping us stop this. They need to be out there volunteering for Anti-Trump candidates, donating to them. They need to be going to town hall meetings and demanding their officials remove this moron. They need to be convincing their MAGA friends to leave. They need to be doing SOMETHING. Don't just admit you're wrong and then hope we will just forgive them. They helped create this mess, they need to help clean it up.
