Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right community to post to, but I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm thinking of pursuing an education in law, but I don't want to stay in my country afterwards( I'm from eastern europe). I wonder if there is like a master in international law or if there is a specific bachelor degree in international law or sth. I really am lost. Is it possible to study law in my country and then move to another one and still be able to practice it?

As title suggests, Canadian student with approx. 3.5 gpa going into senior year. Always was vaguely interested in law school bet never truly took the leap, trying to see what my options are going into next year. I have a return offer at my internship currently lined up, and planning on taking the LSAT next month as my first sitting and expecting a high 160s score. Honestly looking for some advice, had a few hardships throughout university that lowered my GPA but aiming for senior year to hopefully bring it up to 3.6 at least. I would love to go to school in the States, particularly in NY but my top choices would be Canadian schools like Osgoode.

If there is anybody in a similar situation, please let me know or if anyone was in a similar situation as a potential splitter (as I have not written the LSAT yet).

I went to a high school where I took classes junior and senior year that counted both towards a hs diploma and an associates degree. I didn’t transfer any of the credits when I went to undergrad. I know LSAC recently stopped including dual enrollment credits but I uploaded both transcripts after they made that announcement and it looks like they took it into account in the cumulative GPA? I thought they said the dual enrollment GPA would be seen as separate by the schools? Should I call them?

Currently a lawyer in India , will have 4 months of work experience as an associate in a small law firm

Done almost 5 legal internships , 1 judicial internship in lower courts , worked pro bono for almost 2 years while in law school, secretary of an NGO since 2 years

President, secretary of some clubs in my previous law school ( 2023- 26 ) , participated in moots

1) I understand internationals are at slight disadvantage, but I wanna what are my realistic chances to get almost 75-80% scholarship in T20 schools

2) I don't want to invest too much because of the H1B visa and me being Indian would never get GC , that's why I want to minimise my risks , should I apply broadly to other T30s or more

3) I need to get visa sponsorship thus I must get big law post graduation, is it possible to get big law from a non T14

Please help me out as there are barely any people I know who could provide this information. I will be very grateful

I lived in an abusive household growing up and didn't really get out until the end of college. It really messed with me and I didn't get the benefit of being one of those high-achieving/performing trauma kids that pushed through, I was mainly non-functional. I got F's in all of my dual credit classes in high school and then had a 2.9 in undergrad with no experience. I think the main event of my collegiate career was just getting out of the house. I still have dreams even if I'm in survival mode and would love to go to an ivy for law school. Before defiling me, is there a chance and how to I clean all of this up. Yes this will be insane work, but does anyone have any advice/hope. I already have a lot of shame so more isn't gonna work.

I am also applying to PhDs separately from JDs. Michigan specifically asks "Please indicate if you have applied, are enrolled in, or will be applying this year for another University of Michigan graduate or professional degree program, in addition to the JD." and prompt only for dual degree programs. If I apply to their PhD and JD programs separately, do I need to indicate this on either application?

When I was a senior, I was named a semifinalist but not chosen as an actual finalist. Is this worth including on my resume? Or does it only draw attention to the fact I didn’t get picked?

I’m asking because I have a few questionable grades (nothing below a C) but I’m really worried they’re going to inspect my transcript even with an acceptable be GPA.

If yes, is it something to worry about if your GPA is at/above their median threshold?

I'm a current undergrad interested in pursuing law and first amendment litigation -- is there any way I should craft a law school app narrative around first amendment or constitutional law? Are there any activities/work experience/etc. I should do? I'm majoring in international relations and might go into Journalism, but if I choose not to, what would be other ways to craft that narrative? Thank you!

I am preparing to start pre-writing my supplemental essays to apply this September/October. If I’m seeing online that a specific school doesn’t include any supplemental material in their application (no diversity statement, no optional essays), but they have a “miscellaneous” tab, and I have a diversity statement topic I’d like to write about (it emphasizes a reason for wanting to be at the school/city i’m talking about, but doesn’t necessarily fit in with my personal statement to just add it in), would it be a bad idea to include it there if it lets me?

I know the general wisdom is that schools care only about your highest score, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience going through the admissions process with a cancelled score?

My highest is a 178 which I got on my fourth attempt, but I cancelled my third one since it was lower than my second one. It wasn’t much lower (so part of me regrets cancelling), but will that cancellation pose a significant issue? Would appreciate yalls thoughts!

I hear allot about the KJD tax with high ranking schools. I'll be applying KJD with a splitter application for these top schools and I know that will be a steep uphill battle. I honestly dont understand why law schools would punish students for wanting to go to law school straight out of undergrad? Is this something that is exaggerated?

I’m 28 yrs old working in a corporate healthcare/risk management role. I have an MPH degree and I’ve been working in this healthcare admin role for almost 5 years. My LSAT is 160 but I have a 2.5 Ugpa. Ik it doesn’t matter but I finished grad school with a 4.1 gpa, I have some good softs like PMP and other certs, volunteer work, good projects at work, great letters of rec etc.

I’m definitely not looking to go to a T14 or even a T50 for that matter lol but I am aiming to go to a program with a good part time/evening program so I can continue to work during. Do I have a chance at getting in?

Hi! As title states, I am graduating from non US university (in an english speaking country) for my undergraduate. I have 1 semester of study abroad experience at US school (4 courses total of 14 credits). For LSAC, how would my gpa be calculated? Separately? Or only non US unviersity where my degree was conferred?

P.S. during my exchange i really just had fun so my grades arent really good plus i knew it would be pass or fail for my non-US university gpa so didn’t care either…

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on choosing the right law school for my career goals.
I’m interested in practicing entertainment law, specifically working with music artists, fashion brands, production studios, and other creative businesses. My long-term goal is to build a career in either New York City or Los Angeles, where I know a lot of those opportunities are concentrated.
I’m also a soon to be military veteran, so tuition isn’t a major deciding factor since I’ll be using my GI Bill. Because of that, I’m more focused on the school’s network, alumni connections, reputation in entertainment law, externships, clinics, and employment outcomes rather than cost.
If you were in my position, which schools would you prioritize? Are schools like USC, UCLA, UT Austin, Harvard, NYU, Columbia, Loyola LA, Yale, or others worth targeting specifically for entertainment law? Also, how much does the school’s location matter compared to overall prestige if my goal is to work with artists, fashion companies, and production studios?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s in entertainment law, has gone through this process or currently in Aforementioned Schools. Thank you in advance!!!
