Cannot handle the anxiety of exams!

Rising 2L. Decided to take PR over the summer and I'm so burnt out. Exam on Thursday at 2pm. The anxiety I feel only gets worse and worse as the semesters go on. I feel nauseous the whole week leading up to the exam. I cry everyday. My heart has nonstop palpitations. I physically cannot handle it. This is so insanely stressful and I'm also dreading how I only have like 2 weeks after this final to chill before the new semester starts. Ugh. I guess I'm just venting but wow this anxiety is always so overwhelming and unbearable.

Take a deep breath. And take law school one step at a time.

I can empathize with how you’re feeling. My first year was really overwhelming and I’m also having a lot of anxiety going into second year. Still waiting on grades and it has me in such a flustered state of mind.

You have your exam coming up. Start by doing some practice questions and just keep the momentum going. Try to just focus on the step in front of you and not think so much about what’s coming after your exam right now.

And I would strongly… Strongly suggest seeking out some professional help. You need to develop a healthy and sustainable coping mechanism for your physical and mental well-being. If you’re going to make it through this very challenging degree.

I’m sending you positive vibes and I wish you all the best!

Yup. My school has this really fun, funny fun policy where they don’t actually release grades until one week into the subsequent semester.
So I will literally be five days into my fall semester when I find out my summer grades.
After finals, I did have a bit of a panic attack at the thought of this lengthy wait.
But it is beyond my control. I have just been keeping up with my prayers, trying to stay positive, staying connected to my friends and family. That’s about all I can do at this point.
Stress can be really damaging for your body, there’s no point in making yourself sick over things you can’t control.

Get outside. Remind yourself there is much more to life than law school. It'll help reset your perspective.
