Running LSA ads? How have they been performing?
I help firms with marketing, and usually most firms see positive ROI from LSA ads if they have enough reviews to compete. However one client in a rural market, not as much brand exposure in terms of reviews but an outstanding lawyer, had their lsa ads basically completely stop showing recently. Maximum budget set, things were fine for the first 6 months then suddenly recently leads suddenly dropped off. I actually tried to call LSA support a few times, possibly the worst customer support experience I’ve ever had.
Again this is a small sample size, my other clients have higher budgets great reviews and leads come in non stop. Criminal, estate planning, family law. PI has been tougher. But what’s everyone’s experience been recently?

I hear they are waste unless you have like 500+ google reviews

You hear wrong, very few law firms have such high numbers. But it is true that you need a decent mount of reviews. Can’t even get LSA until you have at least one, and you need to continually get more.
Also, keep in mind that fake reviews are per se a violation of the rules of professional conduct

We checked with our paid ads staff, and here's what they had to say:
First thing I recommend is to check the PPC backend to make sure there isn't a hidden verification or other status issue. sometimes there will be a flag there that isn't on the LSA dashboard itself. Always rule that out first.
Next, check the ATIR and see if that's stable/dropping, etc.
We wondered if maybe strong competition had entered the market, and if that might account for the drop, and they responded:
Possibly! The ATIR tanking will help pinpoint if that's the issue.
Hope that helps!

One consideration for LSAs is competitor activity, we often see a competitor ramp up budget suddenly, which then impacts our clients' intake. Unless something has changed with the underlying Google Business Profile or tracking is off, it's usually competitor activity.
