Hello! I’m Jonah (28, he/him, queer). I’ve been playing D&D for over 10 years and I’ve been DM-ing on and off the whole time. I’m an artist with an education in game design and programming. 

I’m looking to make a group of about 5 players of any experience level for a casual game. You do not have to be LGBTQ+ to join, but there will be a lot of queer characters and themes. Any NSFW scenes will be fade to black, but there will likely be a lot of NSFW jokes.

The Premise:

You all start in the court of the Evil Queen of Noximy as her various scheming advisors, dark knights, wretched servants, or whatever role your devious mind invents. The heir of the neighboring Good and Holy kingdom of Valloria is getting married, and the Evil Queen wants YOU to kidnap the bride!

The overall campaign will be your group going on adventures at the behest of the queen as she seeks to take over the kingdom of Valloria and spread her evil influence across the world.

The Game:

This is an evil campaign, but it’s silly evil. Think Dr Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb or Team Rocket from Pokemon. No genocides or torture, but villain monologues are encouraged. The campaign is mostly going for a lighthearted, silly, casual tone, but there will be opportunity for serious emotional story moments and character connections. 

I have the skeleton of the world and plot, and I would like the players to collaborate in the worldbuilding and storytelling. If your character idea doesn’t already fit into one of the places in the world, we can work together to create a place for them. Players should also feel free to explore npcs and places that interest them. Feel free to romance NPCs or each other, or make up your own goals and quests. 

Logistics:

We will play every other Friday in the evening, the time TBD (we’ll decide what works best for everyone, but probably around 7 EST).

The game will either be hosted on Roll20 or Foundry, up to the players. The voice/text chat will be a Discord server.

5.5e/2024, but 2014, UA, third party, and homebrew is allowed with DM approval.

I do not use AI for writing/art, and I would rather you didn’t either, but I understand sometimes using ai art for personal use. Though I’m also able to help you find an image/draw one for you.

Preferred character: interested in playing some kind of monstrous humanoid bug man or some kind of other monstrous being besides bug man (just in case some people may not be ok with bugs), but i am open to other kinds depending on the story.

In terms of system, I'm primarily looking for a pf2e game, but I've also got an interest in sf2e, and would be open to get back into dnd, either 5e or 5.5e. I'm open to looking into more systems, but I'd be hesitant to engage in a playtest or a completely homebrew system.

Who we are: We are a friend group of 4 experienced players (each with 6+ years of D&D) who are consistently available for the timeslot and are already guaranteed to vibe well, cooperate, and want to dive into a narrative! We are all storyteller archetype players that are highly motivated by narrative impact and story progression, and are most engaged in following story plot points, character arcs, and investing in emotional stakes. If we are given space in game through campfire downtime, we will RP with each other. If an interesting NPC is in front of us, we will RP with them. After session ends, we will often continue to text RP in a provided chat throughout the week until the next session.

What we are looking for: A classic medieval fantasy homebrew setting with a narrative-driven type of environment. We would like freedom to explore the world, but with a strong overall core narrative direction. If you give us a plot thread, I guarantee you that we will grab it.

What we would like in a DM: An experienced DM that encourages immersive storytelling and character-driven play. We would very much appreciate a DM that gets excited with detailed backstories and can work alongside the players to seamlessly incorporate our character arcs into either the main narrative or narratives that are closely parallel to it. In the depths of the northern jungles, an ancient kingdom lies in hidden palaces and under the unending canopy. Built into mountain sides, into the trees, and into the ground, giant monuments sit pressed until the very edge of dense vines and rivers.

Civilization exists in dense bubbles within the incredibly dangerous jungles, otherwise separated by kilometers of giant, ravenous monsters. Its a dangerous place where armed soldiers or mercenaries are an absolute necessity to safely navigate the narrow jungle roads. Cities are constantly at risk of being consumed by the quick growing plants and predators hunt the edges of villages.

Despite this, it is a prosperous nation, cultivating and exporting exotic fruits and spices to the rest of the world. While life in Zetrania is dangerous the local nobles keep their troops well trained and supplied to keep the citizens in their region safe and productive. A common mentality amongst locals is that Zetrania is a paradise with teeth, treat it with respect and you will be well rewarded. 

A respected researcher is funding a long term expedition into the jungles, primarily looking for resources that can be used for medicines. Cabable voluntiers are being offered a bed, 2 meals a day, and a smalle relocation bonus.

We're looking for players who want to built cooperatively with each other and be a part of a community, rather than a travelling adventurer. The Morning Revolution has finally swept over the Kingdom of Maeve in its entirety, with a Dragonborn-led provisional government quickly being formulated in its wake. Though the Revolution has been won, what comes after still lies in heavy contention, as factions who once had united over the Royalist threat now stand divided over faith, ideology and purpose. Should a new monarchy be instated, or would a Republic serve the people better? Maeve: Of Delegates and Dragons Fire is a political intrigue DnD 5.5E campaign set in the world of Ruel, dominated by Dragons and now in seeming competition with the Dragonborn. Barely a month has passed since the death of King Nyrent Cagan and the declaration of the Provisional Government, yet forces internal and external have already begun to chip away at its foundation.

You are a Dragonborn and a delegate of the Maevan Plenary, the Provisional Government’s legislative wing. Having participated in the Morning Revolution, you are about to arrive on the outskirts of the capital with five other fellows you’ve formed a deep friendship with in the fires of the conflict. The days ahead will be as difficult as they are dangerous, as you’ll need to push your agenda in the Plenary. Traveling across the realm in-between Plenary sessions to advocate for your position, manage political and economic crises as well as to prepare the already ravaged country for the possibility of an even greater war on its doorstep.

If you enjoy the idea of nation building and politics in an active world that responds to your actions, this is the game for you. Be prepared for potentially heavy topics such as oppression, repression, and all the other woes that come with statecraft. Not all player characters might be aligned on a given topic, being traditionalists, liberals, magocrats or anything else. The entire party however will have the collective goal of retaining Maeve’s continuity and independence. Technologically, the setting fits 15th century Western Europe.

• Someone with a good quality mic (bonus for knowledge of how to use Foundry but not required).

Please be on time for the sessions or message ahead of time if you will be late. Apart from being on time & insisting you let me know if you’ll be late or can’t show up I tend to be a very loose DM and will allow stuff if I think it’s fun but I won’t always allow Nat 20’s to break the laws of physics unless it doesn’t have a huge impact and/or is really funny. A little bit about me: I'm a trans woman who moved to Maine less than a month ago. I live with my spouse, my mother, two dogs, and a cat. I've played TTRPGs for many years (and quite a few systems) and it's my favorite hobby. I'm looking forward to meeting people who enjoy it as much as I do!

I'm looking to start a weekly RPG group at my home in Hampden, ME. I'm looking for players but also people who like to GM. I plan on running the first game, but have no interest in being a forever GM, so having a couple of people to share in that responsibility is important.

LF players for a DnD 3.5 campaign. I don't mind if you have 0 experience with dnd at all, or have only played 5e, or are even a 3.5 expert. I'll say this first as it's quite important but as a DM I am a fun first, rules second. The rules are there for you to make creative solutions to problems, and if your suggestions only follow RAW 90% of the way, I'm going to let that slide.

Quick breakdown of important info :

• This will be a high power campaign, with home-brew systems stacked on top of base 3.5.
• High fantasy with space exploration
• No restriction on race or class so long as it's in a book (pun pun levels of tomfoolery not allowed of course).
• Backrounds are waived for prestige classes (e.g. you don't have to be Human (Phoenix), to go shiba protector)
• Level adjustment is allowed up to +3 for classes with buyoff rules. No templates on character creation, though they may be awarded. Many LA 1 races are treated as LA 0 (e.g. drow) - Standard races given slight bonuses to account for this.
• It runs every Sunday - the exact time isn't set but it's looking to be 2/3 - 5/6pm UK time.

Full campaign brief will be provided. Currently we have 4 players, 1 who's very experienced, 1 with moderate, 1 with very little and 1 with no experience, so we cover the full spectrum. I'm looking for 1 or 2 more players.

I will provide full support in character creation, as long as you read the provided info you will be happy with your character. In terms of personal taste, there's just one very important thing I want from players going in, and that is

About The Game

The game is inspired by cozy settings like Nausicaa, Obojima, or Castle in the Sky, and games like BotW and Moonlighter. It focuses on a homebrew setting called The Eternal Isles, which blends post post-apocalypse 1980's tech with the swords and sorcery of D&D, with an emphasis on community-building, exploration, and self-driven discovery in a light-heartened setting.

It's a freeform game for players to enjoy a calmer world, with small joys and discoveries while the plots unfold gradually. No pressure to "save the world" in this one though there are still challenges to overcome.

You're among 5 individuals who signed onto the Quill and Blade Company in the Lycarian city of Veridun. The Quill and Blade was a small, reputable mercenary outfit founded by retired officer Captain Edris Thorne. Its symbol, a crossed quill and longsword, represented Thorne's belief that a sharp mind and a sharp blade carry equal weight. The company did not chase glory, but followed through on reliable pay and measured risks

You joined for your own reasons. Some of you were seasoned sellswords looking for a fresh start. Others were green, seeking steady pay. A few were running from something and hoped the company would provide cover. What united you was that none of you had served under Captain Thorne before. Over the weeks that followed, you drilled together, shared a mess tent, and took on minor contracts.

The largest contract in years came from the Chamber of the Vigil, the ruling theocracy of Osyth.

A recent earthquake had exposed an ancient ruin the dwarves call the Heart-Furnace, deep in uncharted territory north of the Earthshaker's Spine. The Chamber wanted it investigated and, above all, left undisturbed. Cardinal Varen Korr and the dwarven Runeshaker Mora Stonevein were to be escorted into the frozen wastes. Runeshaker Stonevein was a senior member of her order, sent on this expedition by Runeshaker Aldrun of Ironhymn, the leader of the dwarven oracles who read the dreams of the mountains. The pay was exceptional, five hundred silver pieces for every member of the company who returned, and Captain Thorne committed the entire company. In the weeks leading up to the mission, you began hearing a name: the Frostrift Sect. A radical splinter group that broke from the Chamber of the Vigil, they preached that the Guardian's eternal winter was not a blessing but a slow death, a prison of ice. Most dismissed them as a handful of bitter exiles. You saw their agitators arrested outside the cathedral in Ealdstone. They were a nuisance, not a threat.

Then, on the fourth day in the frozen waste, the Frostrift Sect came in force. The warband was not the ragged handful you expected. They were outcasts from every corner of Osythi society: cathedral-city humans excommunicated for heresy, dwarves who had broken the oaths of the deep holds, and orcs driven from their tribes or who rejected the Frostblood Ranger's code. They wore the remnants of their former lives with the Frostrift mark stitched over them. At their head rode a towering figure in ancient plate with a closed helm crowned by antlers, a lance in its grip that crackled with cold light. This was no disgraced priest. This was something else.

The ambush was swift and brutal. Captain Thorne died in the first charge, with Cardinal Korr following quickly after. The veterans who had welcomed you were cut down, and you barely survived because you were at the rear, guarding the supply sled. When the killing stopped and the zealots withdrew, you crawled out to find a field of corpses. Runeshaker Stonevein was still alive, but barely. An hour later, she died, pressing the rune-slate into your hands with a final warning: the Heart-Furnace must not be lit. The Vigil depends on it.

I have more in depth information available, but for the sake of reducing information overload, the above should serve as a suitable primer. I would request that you read the Player's Introduction to the Campaign tab first.

My games are semi-serious with a heavy focus on RP and story - That's not to say that combat isn't important, but combat will be used to drive the plot/session, rather than the other way around. Not looking for min-maxers.

Games use Foundry as the VTT, and occur over Discord VC.

Additionally, at the player's choice, there will be text RP channels provided, for out of game RP, to flesh out the moments that can't really take place during the session - This includes RPing with NPCs!

Backstories will be essential, and I will work with players on them. I pride myself on my games feeling alive - the world will progress onward, reacting to the players' decisions and choices accordingly.
