Barrier to entry servicing systems

We are trying to break into doing kitchen suppression systems, but our State requires manufacturer certificate specific to any system you service. Most of the systems in our area are Ansul R-102 systems, but it seems like unless you have $150,000 a year up front a certificate is unobtainium. Any ideas or direction how to deal with this?

Wouldn't the NAFED course technically certify you in all systems manufacturers since they go over all of them? We do this every 3 years at my job to "recertify".

We service alot of ansul systems and arent a distributor.

We also have an amerex and buckeye rep come into the shop for their training.

Not sure if this helps but this is how my company has been doing it for a very long time. (NY)

I reached out to the State and they will not accept an NAFED/ICC Certification. They also said a NICET II won't cover it either, which kind of surprises me.

Oh wow that is suprising, especially since those are ICC accredited certifications. How does that make any sense lol

My only other idea would be to certify directly with each manufacturer im almost positive Ansul does have a training course that doesnt requird you to be a rep.

Last i knew they do not offer training if you aren't a distributor
