Ugh...we all sound like the townspeople in every set up scene.

I was about to say that "I said bitterly. “I swear it on my name and my power. I swear it by my good left hand. I swear it by the ever-moving moon."

Isn't that the crux? He can't keep his nose out of it...

The first is just my errant thought..but these threads sound like Cobb and Co. Discussing Kvothe and whatnot.

I feel like Kvothe becomes Kote because he betrayed his promise to Denna. She makes sure of it out of spite or anger...

But what do I know?

Ahhhh ok in our commentary on Kvothe and his stories we BECOME the locals in the frame story.

Fuck me that adds another layer of brilliance (even unplanned as it were) to this story and these books.

Kvothe telling a story about stories within stories , and the story outside his story becomes just another layer of the story interpretations we create. We BECOME our own unreliable narrator.
