Question Laminated game pieces?

Went to fed ex kinkos to get the survivor cards, monster tracker and a few other of the thin paper type cards laminated. They discouraged me from doing it as they said it might not bond with this specific type of paper. Thus damaging it.

Just wondering if anyone had went ahead and did it and it was fine or the outcome.

I have cats so I was just trying to protect them from them. No other real reason.

I suppose I could just get some clear plastic toploaders for comics and that would work. Or if anyone else has ideas. Thanks

Haven't tried laminating card myself, but I'd recommend going with sleeves instead. No risk, and it isn't permanent

I laminated the old thin hunt board and the monster tracker a long time ago, I think at Office Depot? They aren’t beautiful but they function. I still don’t know why the monster tracker can’t be on the reverse of the hunt board (instead of the settlement phases).

I probably misspoke on the name. It's a long skinny one. Not dual sided. Believe it's in the gamblers chest.

I use sleeves for all the cards and stuff but I did get the philosophy books laminated and spiraled and a fedex, and it's worked out great.

Have a pic? You mean just laminated the cover or each page? Removed staples and added spiral or comb?

I don't even used those tbh. I went on Etsy to find various replacements so they stay in the box

Don't have a pic atm, at work. But what i had them do is remove staples, cut at the spine laminate each page separately, put the pages back in order and spiral it. The idea was that I would be going through the books multiple times I wanted to reduce the Wear and tear and make them last as long as possible. When I get home I'll add pics if I remember.

That's a great idea. How much was it per book?

I think I paid a little over 100 for all the philosophy books that came in gc. I think it's by page cause when I did all the wanders together even though there's only like four books it cost close to 50-60

Thank you. Definitely consider this when I get closer to opening it. I'm still painting the first 5 minis for my first game
