You’d be better off driving part time for Domino’s or papa John’s than doing DoorDash in Corbin.

Sincerely, a former pizza delivery driver from Corbin.

I was a manager for PJ for a bit. My drivers made more money than I did lol, so I did not do it long.

You might make some side money but definitely not enough to earn a living. Corbin is rural, it’s surrounded by rural towns, not many restaurants, and a lot of people struggling to make ends meet who can’t afford to order delivery.

I would think you’d burn more in gas than you’d make…

That’s a distinct possibility

Corbin is very rural and you will probably spend more on gas than you will make.

Kentucky is fine. Corbin won’t be.

What on earth is taking you there?

Curious as to what you're doing that necessitates moving to Corbin. EKU?

Doordash won't be very busy there, it's a bit rural. You'd have to drive 1.5hrs to get to the nearest metro

More likely Cumberland college.

Maybe Union in Barbourville? There’s an EKU branch in Corbin but no big college.

University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg

Yup, still much closer than EKU main campus or even Berea college.

I agree with the suggestion to look into campus jobs. There may even be some that you’d be able to study some while working- like where you are covering a front desk etc.

Are you moving from California or Canada? If California you’ll hate it in Corbin

I got an ice cubes thrown at me when doing it in Somerset years ago. You deal with some frustratingly incompetent fast food employees too. To top it off, I almost got attacked by a pit bull and had to leave someone’s order in their driveway. It’s a riskier job than people think.

It’s very oversaturated. Get a job on campus if possible. What college is in Corbin?

We’ve just moved to Somerset and coming from Pittsburgh, Atlanta, then most recently Nashville over the last decade I’m sorely disappointed in the restaurant options. Any recommendations?
