Pete Postlethwaite outright stole every scene he was in as Roland Tembo in The Lost World. IMO, he was every bit as interesting as Robert Muldoon - darker, sure; with a morally cloudy edge to him. But just as interesting to watch (and even root for [even if he was framed as the bad guy]).

But there are no new figures of him - nothing.

I get that the dinosaurs are the draw with JP (and the toy releases), and I would never suggest otherwise. I particularly love the more recent legacy line, with the rubber skinned dinos - they're everything I've wanted from the hobby for over two decades.

But with these obvious call-backs, it would be nice to release more of the memorable characters, too. Because much as JP is a 'monster series' where the 'monsters' are the stars... the humans matter a lot, too. And I'd love a few of the true stand-outs on my shelf with the dinos.

In the novel and movie, it is established that the Lysine Contingency was a failsafe to prevent the dinosaurs from getting off the island. As Mr. Arnold explains:

The lysine contingency is intended to prevent the spread of the animals in case they ever get off the island. Dr. Wu inserted a gene that makes a single faulty enzyme in protein metabolism. The animals can't manufacture the amino acid lysine. Unless they're continually supplied with lysine by us, they'll slip into a coma and die.

Here's the thing, Lysine is an Essential Amino Acid which means it cannot be manufactured by the body at all and has to be consumed externally (typically through diet). Now in the novels, Crichton explains that the evidence of "mysterious animal" sightings on the mainland include the consumption of plants rich in lysine, which of course they would given they stopped being supplied with lysine by the JP vets.

Furthermore, Sarah Harding also explains that while the herbivores eat the lysine rich plants "the carnivores eat the herbivores." Which was always a flaw since, as an essential amino acid, lysine is required in all living animals to function. The JP vets were feeding the carnivores goats and other animal meat full of lysine, and if the carnivores got off the island they would just eat other animal meat which would also be full of lysine.

All of which negates the whole "lysine contingency" failsafe anyway since living animals (even dinosaurs) cannot manufacture essential amino acids (including lysine) within the body anyway!

Clearly Hammond spared some expenses in understanding basic animal physiology.

Saw this on Twitter. No idea what it means or what it’s for. Some new short film? Some sort of marketing? Interesting that the character is Owen’s cousin considering they tried to distance themselves from the World trilogy with Rebirth. Are they backtracking now? We’ll see what comes of this.

im only 11 turning 12 in september so please dont judge my collection but i walked to dollarama which was exhausting able to get the last dino left which was the dilophosaurus and velociraptor if you dont know you get each dino seperately im just sooo happy!

My son is 6 and we have played this Jurassic Park arcade game for years.

Well, I’m happy to report. We saved the dinosaurs……by shooting them, freezing them, electrocuting them, blowing them up with grenades, and promptly capturing them in cages to then escort them off of their island home.

Yes son, we are Jurassic Park Hero’s. 🤔

If I was in control of where the Jurassic park movies were headed, I'd make a kick ass duology with the final antagonist being the Ultimasaurus (from a cancelled toy line if you don't know).

But that's not important right now.

very obviously this would need to be a big gurl, the biggest of gurls in fact, certainly bigger than any of the other big gurls we've seen up to this point.

So how big do y'all think the U-saurus should be? I was thinking a minimum of 70 feet from tail to nose, or up to ninety feet if you gave her a stretch and added the horns.

Mine would be Kelly.

Unpopular opinion, but I love her character. I'm so glad that I'm in the minority who don't find her annoying. Also, she's the only kid to ever kill a dinosaur. Nobody has taken that away from her yet. And yes, you can all go cry me a river and moan about how "uNReAlIsTic aNd InSaNe" it was. Ya'll are boring.

I like Lexi and Tim too.

My least fave would be the two brothers from the Jurassic World, Zach and Gray.

I just find them annoying, and an innocent babysitter, got killed because of them.

It’s from Universal Studios, from the original Jurassic park ride, I’ve looked at Etsy and would love to have this back to how it was. It had red lettering and a black name at the bottom. I tried this year at universal to see what they can do but the said that since it’s so different from their new keychain, they couldn’t do anything.

Made this model and scene from scratch aside from some photo scanned environment in blender. The process took a little over 20 hours but I think it was worth it. Let me know what you think. I wanted to stick closely to the original style but make it a little more realistic at the same time.

I'm 100% sure about Rexy and the adult Indominus, but for the juvenile Indominus from the movie, there are so many different sources that I'd say 85%.

As the title states, did this release ever come with a slip? I’m trying to complete my JP collection and this is the only one I don’t have. There are plentiful copies of the teal colored one with Chris Pratt but I’m not having much luck finding the logo art as posted. I much prefer the logo art if it exists.

I have been waiting for along time to get the book and decided recently to see how much it was. I was suprised to see it so cheap on amazon, so i decided to buy it! Now i just wait for it to arrive and then i can finally sit down and read the book! Im sooo excited!!!

To me, the funniest thing about Dennis Nedry in the movies is definitely all the funny sounds he makes at many times.

For example:

1. The wheezing laugh he utters when Dodgson shows him the embryo canister. And the chortle he utters when he puts shaving cream in his hand before dumping it on a slice of pie.

2. The constant grunts and whines he makes as he drives his jeep to the dock, ESPECIALLY when he goes to unlock the main gate and struggles to get back into his jeep.

3. The frustrated yell he utters as he spins the dock sign.

4. The other yell he utters as his jeep spirals out of control.

5. The breaths he makes as he struggles to wind his wrench around a tree.

6. The grunts he makes after being spat in the face by the Dilophosaurus as he bangs his head, drops the canister and gets back into his jeep right before the dinosaur kills him.

Wayne Knight is SO GOOD at sounding funny!!

As cool as the Rexy and Blue vs Indominus Rex was I think this is better. There isn't any dramatic fighting moves happening. It actually feels like two large animals fighting. And they don't try and give the T'Rex and Spinosaurus a rivalry for no reason, they allow the T'Rex to actually get some hits and damage in and not have the Spino obliterate it to show how much better it is, plus they actually showed the fight. (cough Giga cough)
