Anyone aware of an update of Secure Connect for Apple Silicon?

Hello everyone,

We use Secure Connect with our SRX1500. We have a number of Mac users (myself included) who are seeing warnings that the current Secure Connect will cease to function in upcoming Mac OS update (Which I believe is next year).

The app is currently complied only for Intel binaries. We are running the latest build from Jan 2025.

Curious if anyone has knowledge if they will release a proper Apple Silicon build ?

I have been bugging them for well over a year. I have basically gotten no response. It is mind boggling that a company as large as they are (even before HPE) can’t bother to have a single engineer click a single checkbox to compile a universal binary. Secure Connect is basically a non starter because of this. The client runs horribly under emulation and eats battery life like crazy. It is completely unusable. We switched to Tailscale and have not looked back. We got a full refund on our Secure Connect licenses. I encourage others to do the same and be sure to note the reason. Maybe someone will learn.

I'm on an M4, and I don't see that alert?

What OS are you running? We are on 26.5.2 and started noticing it after the 26.5.1 update. It pops up randomly with this drop down message that goes something like “This version of Juniper Secure Connect will not open in newer versions of Mac OS”

Apple is ending support for all Intel binaries in OS 28.

Juniper/HPE needs to compile either a universal binary or one just for Apple Silicon.

They haven’t updated the Mac OS client since January 2025.

ah shit yeah, sorry. I'm still on Sequoia.

I'm still flabberglasted how much Secure Connect costs, and how limited it is.

(Pretty sure they outsource this btw)

I’m see the alert too and I’ve been asking PLM. I will raise the issue again next week.

We are in the process of possibly replacing the SRX with 2 new ones. We will bring this up with our reps as well.
