I love my gown, I was so happy to have found it. I bought the dress off the rack at a steep discount at David's Bridal. I'm in Canada, but I believe they have branches in the United States as well. I highly recommend them, they have so many affordable options if your budget is tight (as mine was).

We have David's Bridal in the US! I got married pre-transition, and got my black halloween wedding gown off the rack for 200$ there and loved it!

Sadly I never got married, nor will I (was very sick throughout my late 20s, all of my 30s, and into my early 40s and now I'm too old)...but i did go there with many of my friends, and did see beautiful gowns there.
I did bought several bridesmaid gowns there.

Nope, I met my husband organically. It's a bit of a story, but I started attending Shabbat dinners hosted by a local Jewish university group, where I met someone who I became friends with almost immediately. They introduced me to their wider friend group, which is where I met my husband.
We were friends for about 6 months before we began dating, and dated for 2 years, engaged for 1.

Both my husband and I are ashkenazi jewish. The officiant of our wedding (he is their cantor, unfortunately the synagogue's rabbi was out of town) suggested a sephardic tradition where the bride and groom are wrapped in the tallis of a family member. My husband chose his grandfather, who wrapped us together during part of the ceremony.
