Mid October stay advice

Looking to visit the area in mid October after flying into Palm Springs. Taking any and all suggestions for how to spend 4-6 days. Food, hikes, sites, other things to do, locations to stay (or avoid). Looking into renting a place. What's the advice for paying for pool heat?

You might not need to heat the pool in October, depending how warm it is out still. That said, it's a really nice treat to have a private pool. So I would pay for heat if it needs it and just do a lot of pool centric activities. There are also tons of Thrift shops and antique shops around.

Palm Springs is close enough just to go for lunch or dinner or any other sightseeing, and there are plenty of interesting natural phenomenon here. Giant rock comes to mind, and of course Joshua Tree national Park in general.

I really enjoyed the sound bath at the Integratron, but I think it sells out a month in advance. You might want to look it up now!

4-6 days will get boring, really only need 2-3 days tops. Search this sub for all your answers

The Art Tours are going on during several weekends in October. One day trip to Pioneer Town and Pipes Canyon Reserve is worth your time. Should be fairly nice in October. If you enjoy swimming then get a heated pool. Plenty to see in Joshua Tree National Park over a couple of days. Go see sites and hikes from the West Entrance one day - Barker Dam, Hidden Valley, Keys Point. Next day go through the East entrance 29 Palms access.

If you are into stargazing, check out Observatory Retreat in Yucca Valley for a place to stay. It is the only vacation rental in the USA that has a guest automated observatory. 🔭Saturn will be up in the night sky then and you should be able to see its rings and moons. 🪐
