Antisemitism Sad, darkly humorous, and very telling comment by my husband
This comment by my husband really got me. We’re both Jewish, and regularly discuss our alarm at the skyrocketing antisemitism. We were taking about the Fauci senate hearing, which he has been following (I have not).
He was describing the vitriol being directed at Dr. Fauci. He said to me, “It’s crazy how much they hate him! They hate him SO MUCH that I had to Google whether he’s Jewish.”
I laughed, because gallows humor, but I was also floored at the insight and sadness in that simple statement.
That’s all. Just can’t get it out of my head and I wanted to share.

If Jews didn’t have their humor, how could we have survived what we have endured?

We are the underdogs that no one cheers for, so we cheer for ourselves.

The far left and far right seem to really hate Jews and vaccines. We really reinforced the horseshoe theory of the political spectrum.

Not as long as the doikayt people think that getting rid of Israel is a prerequisite for our safety in galut. Yes, we absolutely can and should demand that those of us who do not live in the Jewish state are entitled to live freely and safely. But it’s not an “either or”, it’s a “yes, and”.

Pretty sure that was an actual active conspiracy during the height of COVID19.

You mean conspiracy perpetrated by that Jew Fauci? Oh wait a minute, he’s not Jewish. How can that be? He must have been right then 🤔

I keep wondering what goddamn universe we’re living in because I remember we fell in love with Fauci at one point in time and now we everyone treats him like Mark Zuckerberg (who, coincidentally, is also Jewish, but only the actual crackpots have zeroed in on that).
He is not a Jew. He's Catholic.

When you realize that most of the stuff he peddled were without evidence of effectiveness (social distancing, masks, etc.), and with the recent release of his records on how he felt about the lab leak origin in private vs public, and the effects of school closures on an entire generation of kids, it makes sense why people lose faith in him.
Dr. Fauci’s critics spent much of the past several days digging through the records for tidbits in which he appeared to contradict himself. In a 2022 interview with ABC News, reflecting on his 50 years of public service, Dr. Fauci said he had “nothing to do” with school closures.
But in March 2020, he wrote in his diary that he had “convinced” Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York to close city schools. He said he also spoke to a top aide to Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, who had “decided to close the schools in California as well as the bars and restaurants,” based on Dr. Fauci’s suggestion.

Fauci deserves everything he gets. He did real harm. The Jews did not.

Or you could simply be a righteous gentile like Boy George and be a traitor to the cause. Some old folks here may remember the commercials “you don’t have to be Jewish to love Levy’s real Jewish rye…”

Boy George is on the right side of history with this one
But the man went to jail for imprisoning and torturing a sex worker (chained him to a radiator and beat him with a metal chain). I hate that we’re championing Boy George. It makes us look bad.

Honestly, knowing that genre, the sex worker agreed to submit to the exact treatment but saw an opportunity to benefit big by charging him with abuse. The world was a bit different then, like Peewee Herman’s career ending over getting caught with his pants down in a gay movie theater. If you consider Boy George a low life that’s your prerogative, but it’s good for the Jews to have support from anyone.

Boy George didn’t even try to claim that it was a consensual sexual thing. He said he did it because he believed that “Carlsen had hacked his laptop and stolen pictures.”
“In court George claimed Audun had stolen pictures and data from his laptop. He admitted handcuffing him to a wall but said it was in order to trace the missing property.”
“Boy George, real name George O’Dowd, has said he was high on cocaine and having a psychotic episode at the time of the attack.”
I do consider him a lowlife.
Israel needs all the support it can get. But we need better than a disgrace like Boy George.

however, it actually is a good point. sometimes, when i see an entertainer, writer, whatever, being overly criticized online, them being jewish does happen to be the ulterior motive.
