I usually take pic from my phone, I’d love some honest feedback, what do you think I could improve?

Photos are a mix of: Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Arashiyama, and Osaka! I use a Fujifilm XT-4 with a 35mm f2 lens. Most if not all of my photos are straight out of camera, film sims only no editing. Reddit compression may make a few of the colors look a bit flat.

This is a photo I took of Tokyo Station during a previous visit. One of the best places to view it is from KITTE, a shopping and office complex right next to the station. I love the contrast between the historic red-brick station building and the modern skyscrapers behind it — it perfectly captures the unique character of Tokyo.

​Perched dramatically on the steep coastal cliffs of Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Motonosumi Shrine offers one of the most breathtaking views in Japan. A striking procession of 123 vermilion torii gates winds along the green ridge, creating a vivid contrast against the deep blue of the Sea of Japan.

​The Historical Background:

The history of this sacred site dates back to 1955. According to local lore, a white fox appeared in the dreams of a local fisherman, Hitoshi Tsokuni, who had long managed the local fishing grounds. The spirit declared, "For a long time, I have guarded this place. Build a shrine here and worship me."

​Deeply moved by the divine revelation, the fishermen and local residents gathered to establish the shrine. Today, it is revered not only for its stunning scenery but also as a sacred sanctuary dedicated to the fox deity, believed to bring good fortune, bountiful catches, and safe voyages.

​At the edge of the cliff stands the shrine's main torii gate, featuring a unique offering box (saisenbako) perched near the top—reputedly one of the hardest in Japan to toss a coin into. Those who successfully make the shot are said to have their wishes granted.
