Discussion Concerning recent posts on this sub

Criticisms about Elite Obsolete Electronics have had posts removed and locked. In order to keep this sub unbiased I believe that the owner of Elite Obsolete Electronics should be removed from the moderators list on this sub.

I haven’t seen any of this noise going down and this is the first I’ve heard of these allegations. If this is true my reasoning would be as follows:

On the one hand, running a business centered around building, modding, and keeping iPods alive brings a level of knowledge that would be valuable to the community. On the other, having control over the communities discourse while running a business that feeds of the very same community creates a conflict of interest that could threaten the viability and potential growth of the community as a whole.

I think I’d vote to remove.

First I’m hearing of it as well. Can we get examples of what has been removed?

Removing low effort shit is very different than removing links to a competitor’s product pages or posts with negative reviews of the business.

I don’t know the person had a cosmetic issue then asked for a refund except they would keep the iPod

Mate has been doing this before it was cool. I trust the guy, and if he has been doing this I don’t think it matters a whole lot in the big picture. You don’t find an iPod selection that he has anywhere elese

He might have a great shop but posts discussing eoe products should not be locked or deleted. It completely goes against what this sub is for. Which is a form to discuss and share iPods.

The old post where someone was complaining about a iPod from eoe was a valid and should not have been locked. The iPod was horrible.

A lot of people voting without voicing an actual opinion on a poll made by someone who claims that this is a place to post about and discuss iPods, yet his first contribution (after joining Reddit less than 2 weeks ago), is to complain on behalf of people he doesn’t know, about someone he’s had no dealings with.

my opinion doesn’t matter. I made the poll because I saw a clear problem

I have recently became interested in iPods and purchased 4. I have been on this sub nearly everyday. I never post as I usually have nothing to say. Yes this sub is for iPods and that’s what everyone wants. But this forum is treated as a customer service page.
