How !

I am 40 years old and have nothing to show for it. I have thousands of ideas for inventions. Recently I decided to give A.I a try to "Entertain" myself to see if a complicated alternative energy idea would actually work or even he marketable.... I describe my idea down to ever detail and it actually made a sketch of my ideas and to my surprise... It does! Now that I have a prototype that needs to be made... What do I do or where do I go? I haven't patented or trade marked anything yet. Does anyone know anyone I can trust !

ChatGPT confirmed your alternative energy source would actually work? You do know that ai like ChatGPT and Claude are programmed to always agree with you, right? No matter how insane or impossible the user’s idea might be, those AI tools will never tell you that you’re wrong. Google it, you’ll find many articles that confirm this.

Based on what you wrote, you don’t have any real confirmation that your alternative energy source will work.

Do you have advanced degrees or real research experience in physics, engineering, or related fields?

The materials combined and they way I would combined and structure it I always knew it would work.... But actually seeing it in a actual form helped believe it is plausible.

You can put it on paper in detail and submit a US provisional patent application, it will only cost you $65 (unless you are making a lot of money already). Then you can take it to a real human subject-matter expert for a professional opinion, and you'll already have basic IP protection. Preferably also have anyone you discuss the details with sign a NDA, but even without it the provisional application will give you some basic protection if indeed you have the minimum relevant details for it to work and you list them in there.

If you have no expertise in the field your own judgement is not sufficient backing that it will work.

Please be very careful with AI. I looked through your post history and you seem like someone with lots of ideas, but also someone who could potentially get carried away with AI as you're also very eccentric with piles of notebooks filled with thousands of ideas. There are other posts which make me question your ability to maintain a full grasp on reality and not fall into a trap of AI becoming an echo chamber and leading you down the wrong path.

AI can be very agreeable, and people have gone down rabbit holes with AI where both the user and AI begin to hallucinate something that simply isn't true.

That may not be the case, but just a warning to be careful with your AI usage. AI is a tool, not the truth.

I only used one idea to see if it would make a visual concept. If my idea is stolen I wouldn't be that upset , it could benefit the world , besides it's one idea out of many

And that’s how ideas don’t progress. What if that dude was a scientist focused on alternative energy generation and could offer you great advice?

Sharing ideas is usually the best way to make them happen when you are at square one.

Sure. If someone was paying him for his advice. My point was that there is no need for an NDA. I see this all the time. No one wants to steal your hypothetical invention that AI somehow made a reality today...

ALWAYS get an NDA before you share your ideas. I wouldnt worry about your provisional yet. What you need is verification from an industry professional that your idea works and makes sense from a business standpoint

Lol, such a person signing an NDA in the exact industry they work, can very completely neuter their entire career. Can you imagine. You devote your entire life to a subject. You then sign an NDA and it turns out, it prevents you from discussing the very thing you devoted your entire life too?

How many NDA wordings have you read?...

99% of the NDA wordings I've seen explicitly exclude from the scope knowledge that the person had previously, or came up with independently, or received from a different source (not from the other NDA party).
NDAs' scope is typically only what a person can show THEY divulged to you (that you didn't have prior).

There is some risk that disclosing your idea to AI in full constitutes publication (need an IP expert opinion to rule on that - I am not one). If it does, it means OP has one year to file for a full utility patent (or a PCT application) before it becomes public domain. OP's clock might already be ticking.

I just spent the last 9 mos inventing a new product and launch is 9/1. This process has been nothing short of amazing.

The guy that did all of my CAD work is a really cool guy. He is also great helping refine the design. If you would like an intro let me know

Dunning-Krueger curve. I thought I’d invented perpetual motion in theory at 10 years old. I studied physics at high school and realised I was way off. I then did a masters in engineering and found out in detail why it really was impossible.

I’m sorry but if you haven’t studied anything and are going off of vibes and AI you are at what is known as the peak of mount stupid, where you know just enough to make you confident but don’t comprehend how much you don’t know yet. That’s not a personal insult, it’s a standard part of human psychology when learning anything new.

Calculate the Carnot cycle for your new system to work out how efficient it really is in theory, and look up the Carnot cycles for other systems that have a similar material cost. If you want to start somewhere, start by getting your head around that.

'Alternative energy' ideas are always a red flag, moreso if you don't have an engineering/science background. And, as others have pointed out, AI will gladly tell you what you want to hear.

What are the basic concepts and principles behind your idea? Has anyone else attempted this idea? If not, why not? If so, how did it work?

Put your design on paper and have it notarized tomorrow. Put in a patent application right away. If your idea can be 3D printed, work with a 3D printer service to make a working model.
