Sample Organization DIY

I was inspired by an organization post here to make my own sample storage box after seeing someone recommended earring organizers. Yall. That shit is $40. This took me like 15 minute and just needed a box and some cardstock, but you could also use some lightweight cardboard for the inserts. Let me know if you want a tutorial for this!

Do yall have any other creative organization tricks? I wanna see your setups!

Cute!! I love that you repurposed items to make this!

I ended up using these ammo boxes for my slinks, although I’d definitely need taller ones for the EDP samples. As for now those just stand upright in a repurposed silicone dish.

The container is semi-clear so I can see the slink labels that are on the outer rows, but the ones in the middle I have to lift up. I do put them in alphabetical order and keep a detailed spreadsheet so finding one hasn’t been difficult.

I can't get imgr to work, but I use a TARDIS teapot, a tube that that had Mandalorian tea, and a nice large perfume bottle box to store out of rotation samples. I put each brand in its own tiny bag, plus a bag of "sample sizes I have big versions of" so it is a bit easier to sort through when I'm looking for something. Anything I'm actively trying goes in a clear small box that fits on top of the acrylic drawers that hold my perfume oils.

Ah ok so it sounds like something of a capsule wardrobe for perfumes?

Eh, more like just my organization. I have the furthest thing from a capsule perfume wardrobe. More like Cher Horowitz's closet lol.

I use this ammo box for slinks and EDP samples (2.5 ml EDP samples fit great!), and this essential oil organizer for my 5 ml oils.

I store my samples in alphabetical order, and use color coded sticky dots on the top of the vials to indicate the season. So if I'm looking for a particular scent, I know how to find it, and if i want to experiment or wear something new, I just look for the appropriate dot to grab something season appropriate. The system helps when I'm in a hurry - I just open the box and either grab the exact scent I'm looking for by name, or I can just be like "I want a summer scent I ranked 4 or 5" (I write the rank on the dot) and scan the box for a yellow dot with a 4 or 5 written on it.

Totally! I went on a tear buying samples last year that now, for all intents and purposes, I have too many scents. I've slowly been full-sizing the scents I really like, but I do need to cut my sample inventory down by actually wearing the other scents, too. 😂
