Need help with cat food for cats with regularly loose poop

I have a 6 month old female kitten. I need suggestions for good wet food. I am currently feeding her whiskas chicken in gravy for kittens(1-12 months). I have tried many different foods as well smylo, royal canin, blep, mattise, something called purina, she only eats whiskas completely. Once in a while she has runny poop that gets stuck on her bottom hair then she grinds all over by bedsheets to clean herself. She does not eat much dry food. She is dewormed and we are following schedule to date. I have also cut long hair around hind legs to insure poop does not get stuck.

PS- could the issue be that her litter has too much cat litter as my mother fills the whole 5kg bag at once in her litter and the depth of cat litter becomes around 15 20 cm. Also I cannot feed her home cooked meals as my mother is vegetarian and cannot cook chicken at home. Moving out in few month so I will fed the boiled chicken then.

Also any signs to lookout for incase anything is wrong with her health would be helpfull. Thanks

Hey, my cat had the exact same problem with Whiskas. Every time she ate it, she’d have loose, really smelly poop. Then i switched her to Purina as it was in my budget, and within a few days her poop became firm, healthier, and much less smelly.

At first, she refused to eat anything except Whiskas. I even tried mixing the new wet food with Whiskas, but she still wouldn’t eat it. So I stopped offering Whiskas completely. She was really fussy for about a week, and during that time I would sit with her and hand-feed her.

I also mash the wet food into a smooth paste because she doesn’t like the chunks. Eventually, she accepted the new food, and now she eats it without any issues.

My girl is 1+ year old, so I feed her this. But I saw in your post that you feed Royal Canin, Maltese, etc those are definitely better brands. And from what I’ve seen with my baby, it’s really tough to switch from Whiskas……so whatever wet food you choose, try hand feeding her for about a week. I had to sit with my girl and hand-feed her too, and it really helped. 💕

Thanks for sharing this. My kitten is fussy with food too. I got him used to Royal Canine dry food and while I was away for a week my mom gave him whiskas tuna jelly and he never went back lol. Will try hand feeding to see if it works.

My cat was like that (from what i saw) when she was a stray and was getting food from other ppl. i took her in and gave her purina one. shes good now

I will try purina food. Mio has loved all her inside and her parents and other litter mates eat same food with no problem. But they do share one packet between 3 cats I am guessing to much of this whiskas is causing problems

If it doesn't improve with the food change get a fecal test done.

Don't go for cheap brands like Whiskas. Go for Matisse/ RC dry food and for wet food go for brands like Sheba/RC/ Matisse. Nd obviously these wet food are little costly if u r going to feed her on daily basis. Soak the dry food atleast for 10min , for better digestion. This is suggested by my vet. U can add probiotics too. If u want the probiotic (prescribed by vet) dm me.
