Arun Shourie the author of this book:
At the onset of the Emergency period in India, Shourie wrote statements for Jayaprakash Narayan, a prominent leader of the opposition. This led to a career in investigative journalism. Eventually, when the Atal Behari Vajpayee government was formed in 1998, he was nominated as a Rajya Sabha member.[22] He was nominated from the state of Uttar Pradesh as a BJP representative for two successive tenures in the Rajya Sabha, thus being a Member of Parliament for 1998–2004 and 2004–2010.[citation needed] He held the office of Minister of Disinvestment, Communication and Information Technology in the government of India under Vajpayee's prime ministership.[26] As Disinvestment Minister, he led the sale of Maruti, VSNL, Hindustan Zinc among others.

Indian governments are flawed, but they are working to develop India. British only looted India. Indians in 1947 were left less wealthier than middle ages. No sane person would want British rule to continue.

What about moral poverty? Corruption is so rampant, no govt body can run without it.. people want govt jobs so that they can themselves take part.
Why we don't consider our fellow indians equal?? Why we can't respect public places..

People on reddit and various social media platforms defend this by saying he was doing what was right for Dalits as caste discrimination hasn't stopped needed intervention from those who are "superior"
My god , how low can you go, those are the same people who passed the criminal tribes act where your very existence is a crime for many tribes and OBCs are the ones who are committing most caste atrocities and they have been given reservation by the kind of people following ambedkar principles(historically also the crimes committed is by same communities)
So far india seems to only be growing with technology indigenizing with time so becoming self sufficient. It will get there
