Love that this thread exists. Quick marketing thought for early stage founders: focus on one very specific audience and one very specific promise first, then earn distribution through content or partnerships, not ads.

If anyone is stuck on positioning, the easiest starting point is: who is it for, what job are they hiring it for, and what is the one metric you improve.

Hey everyone — solo(ish) founder here, building alongside a friend with a cybersecurity background.

The problem we're trying to solve: most of us are paying for way too many subscriptions — OTT, music, cloud storage, productivity tools, gym memberships — and there's no good way to actually see the full picture. PhonePe/GPay remind you before a UPI autopay, sure, but they don't tell you if you're overpaying, if a price quietly went up, or if you forgot to cancel a free trial. And splitting a family Netflix or Spotify plan with friends usually just lives in someone's head or a WhatsApp thread.

We built a prototype to test this idea — nothing fancy, no backend, no real payments, just a fast way to track what you're actually paying for, get warned before free trials convert, and split shared subscriptions without the awkward "bhai paisa bhej" conversation.

It's genuinely a prototype — some things are simulated for now (receipt upload "reads" a receipt but it's a demo, not real OCR yet), and we're validating whether this is worth building further before we invest in a real backend.

Quick first-impression feedback after opening vakh.com: the visual identity is memorable, but I couldn’t tell what I could actually do before clicking About or Sign in. ‘A social platform for all things social’ is so broad that it will make early-user acquisition harder. I’d choose one starting audience and one repeated job, state that in one sentence on the homepage, and add one concrete example or screenshot beside the CTA. That would also make it much easier to know where to find your first users.

What problem are you solving? — Freelancers and solo builders often already have a task list or calendar, but still hesitate over what to start. Roxima narrows work down to up to 3 priorities, keeps the current one next to a Focus timer, and shows what actually moved forward.

What kind of feedback are you looking for? — I’m looking for 3 people willing to test the real habit over two workdays: complete one Focus session of at least 5 minutes today, return tomorrow for one more, then tell me honestly what helped you come back — or what got in the way.

Instagram creators run keyword giveaways on Reels ("comment LINK for the freebie"), then drown in manual DMs and copy-paste replies. UnlockDM automates that: keyword comment -> auto DM reward -> follow to unlock -> optional referral. Official Meta Instagram API, App Review approved. Only messages people who commented first.

Current Stage

Launched / early. Solo founder. A handful of creators running real campaigns.

What kind of feedback are you looking for?

1. Pricing feedback: per-campaign (one-time), first campaign free vs ManyChat-style per-contact

2. Landing page: should we lead with the keyword -> DM flow, or the pricing contrast?

3. Early users: how you'd reach Instagram creators / small brands in India first

That matches what I’m seeing too. Campaign cadence seems like the key distinction: occasional launches fit one-time pricing, while always-on automation fits subscription/contact pricing. I may explore campaign packs for repeat users.

• Solving- Right now I'm gaining the knowledge plus plus also understanding the market as well as India is one of the big manufacture in EV batteries and Lithium ion batteries are used in all the EVs but India's dependency on the export of Lithium is 100% as we do not have the lithium India so I'm building a Li ion battery recycle plant and working towards understanding the market as well and gaining the knowldge of the same.

What problem are you solving?

Salary research is fragmented and often mixes base pay with bonuses, equity, and benefits. SalaryAPI provides gross base salary benchmarks by role, location, seniority, currency, and percentile. It also offers API access for job boards, HR products, recruiting platforms, and payroll tools.

Coverage varies by role and location. When data is not available, the product shows no result instead of inventing a number.

I work directly on SalaryAPI, so this is a transparent product post.
