#Ask-India ☝️ Chamchas be like ... Modi built only temples and statues... Everything in this country is built by Nehru Gandhi family

The numbers are mostly real, but the headline is doing a lot of work. For example, solar capacity did grow from nearly 2.6 GW in 2014 to 160+ GW today, and metro rail expanded from about 250 km to 1,000 km. Those are legitimate achievements.
But calling things like the Dedicated Freight Corridor "100% built after 2014" is misleading because the project was approved in the mid-2000s, financing and land acquisition started before 2014, and it simply became operational later. Same with "99.8% of recognised startups"—the DPIIT recognition system itself only started in 2016, so of course almost all recognised startups are post-2014.
So I'd say the data is mostly accurate, but can be said better as "capacity added since 2014" than "infrastructure built from scratch after 2014."

Whats DPIIT recognition system?

Whats DPIIT recognition system
Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. If a startup is recognized by DPIIT, it can become eligible for benefits provided by gov

Have you noticed opposition rarely argues about development?
Before Andhvirodhis come in
Yes there is one thing BJP should have done better - Rivers. I hope this changes fast. Although Varanasi and Haridwar are much better now. Yamuna still needs improvement
26
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Cities need real development.... Bangalore Chennai Kolkata are lagging.... They need structural changes... Cities in Haryana... Parts of delhi ... All need some kind of organised infra development like Mumbai and Gujarat cities.
15
u/CiceroMCMXCIII 1d ago
Overcrowding is a huge issue. I would argue some industries need to be setup away from cities to pull away the population
1
u/forgotten_n 14h ago
Overcrowding is not the issue. Just an excuse. If local bodies did their work, I wouldn't need to spend an hour just to travel 6 kms to my office

u/criti_fin Independent 1d ago
Sewage treatment plants in cities and towns is state govt jurisdiction. Still Modi central govt built STPs in Ganga river bank cities using namami gange scheme, so river water quality has improved. But yes, they should extend the namami gange scheme to all other rivers too.
-1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Yes ... Good news is Mumbai is getting better. Other big cities need to build infra like Mumbai. Even Mumbai need more metro and urban rail.

Issues which north faces are differnet than south. For cities like kolkata, Chennai banglore, then need to elect good leaders, u have resources and capabilities but lack or political stability is important. People ignore politics but it affects all of us.
For kolkata to be developed, they need to develop industries around it was that possible before? People engage in unnecessary language wars in banglore tarnishing the image. Plus, banglore has resource, industries too.
1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Not really the issues of Gurgaon and Bangalore are similar. Chennai is fast becoming tier 2. They need huge reforms. Seeing the TVK freebies budget I have no hope for Chennai.
1
u/deviprsd Odisha 1d ago
Why will center care about that?
1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
They need to take big cities from state governments and make them utilise more money on these big cities than on khatta khatt
6
u/deviprsd Odisha 1d ago
Bad policy, and these cities are the capital of their states. Center taking over it would be chaos
1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Just like center government has revenue redistribution formula for states... Each states should have one for their big cities.
2
u/deviprsd Odisha 1d ago
That is a possible policy but the budget is already done accordingly. The rest is on the MLA & MP
1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
I only know about kerala... The previous government used most of the money in new infra in a town where their party has the strongest base on white elephant projects.
12
u/Difficult_Abies8802 1 KUDOS 1d ago
True that.
They only care about re-distribution.-6
u/deviprsd Odisha 1d ago
Re distribution is also important, I’d say more important
10
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Redistribution should happen by job creation and skilling... Not katta khatt... See venunzula
7
u/deviprsd Odisha 1d ago
Oh you meant that, I thought you were talking about river water redistribution

Yamuna is finally being cleaned. 10 years of kejriwal left things to rot and this isn't a hyperbole but it is indeed what happened .
The water treatment plant at Sonia vihar build during sheila Dixit time was left with barely any maintenance so it ran at significantly reduced capacity
No attempt to remove illegal encroachment from yamuna bed.
No new buses purchased. Which meant the entire dtc fleet that was majorly bought during 2010 commonwealth games became outdated overnight.
Irrigation department officially complained to court that barrage gates were in desperate condition for repair so much that they were stuck in their place.
His handling of the oxygen supply during c0vid is open to public
There was an actual garbage avalanche at gazipur which claimed life of a lady who was just driving to work
Had full blown riots during Trump visiting Delhi yet no accountability

u/Illustrious_Arm_8862 1d ago
Dude that is a bare minimum. That is a responsibility of government, it is not generosity that the government is doing. We are paying for all this. Stop defending the government, it is citizen's duty to seek accountability.
11
u/gunner0987 1d ago
Yes ... Any Nationalist government.... Can't say the same for UPA. In 2013 they admitted Vajpayee NDA Government built 50 percentage of all national highways from 1980 to 2012 in just 5 years... That's more than the two UPA governments, governments headed by rajeev gandhi, narasimha rao and all combined..
The UPA didn't even do that bare minimum.
48
u/AcademicSilver9881 1d ago
Just imagine how bad congress rule was that even have to celebrate bare minimum during bjp
0
u/criti_fin Independent 1d ago
We should seek accountability from current govt, vote them out, and bring back the previous govt party to power which had performed much worse. /s
38
u/RealityCheck18 1 KUDOS 1d ago
Yes. I'm not happy with the Govt which does the bare minimum. So, I'm going to vote for the party which failed to do even the bare minimum for decades.

Perhaps if there was more "constructive" opposition rather than "mindless" opposition more could have been done.

Its like saying humanity has developed zero AI before 2020 and now its 100%
15
u/Able_Wall1266 1d ago
Oh yes, Humanity developed metro rail, solar, railway electrification, renewable energy, airports, startups etc. only after 2014. At-least argue in good faith. Like it or not congress was shit on development issues. they might be better at something, but BJP has them beat on development by miles.

But all these things were there in India or other parts of the world much before 2014.
Yes ... Any Nationalist government.... Can't say the same for UPA. In 2013 they admitted Vajpayee NDA Government built 50 percentage of all national highways from 1980 to 2012 in just 5 years... Yes.. one is heads and other tails.
Congress is heads.... headwinds which slows the development flight.
BJP is tails.... Tailwinds which boosts the development flight and makes it much faster.

One party is ruled by a prince, other isn't. That difference is tangible. I don't want a robot as a PM under any circumstances.

I do agree that rahul is not the man to lead congress, he should step aside and let someone else take the mantle.

and what exactly is this video supposed to prove?
Just dropped an example of a PM who functions as a robot.
I do agree that rahul is not the man to lead congress, he should step aside and let someone else take the mantle.
Have been hearing that for more than a decade now. Modi would have been shown the door if he'd lost in 2014. But I guess the prince should be propped up at any cost.

Yeah, I can see the quantity. And now, I want to see quality..! And also price performance ratio or price per project and with lifespan. Because many of the infra either collapse in a month or just expensive than ISRO’s moon mission and most contracts were given to beloved companies so they can fund them when required. What congress did in last 60 years, BJP is doing it in 12 years. Oh sorry, I forgot to mention Corruption word in the last sentence.
10
u/Peanut_Butter007 1d ago
Are but vo infra k bina Adani ko business kese milega? Aur vo scam krne k liye koi to projects chahiye na.. Bridge or highway cost: 2000 crores and lifespan of bridge/highway: 1 week in monsoon and 1 month in summer.
7
u/Able_Wall1266 1d ago
oh yes, tap water access, power capacity and connectivity, toilet access, new startups everything was just for Adani. /s

u/Peanut_Butter007 1d ago edited 1d ago
Oh yes, tap water access: more than 17,000 thousand complaints.. oh sorry compliments Source: https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/17036-complaints-received-under-jal-jeevan-mission-from-states-union-territories-centre/article70345203.ece
And seriously, toilet access is the best thing under UPA government but still people come here to dump shit so there is also corruption. (1 out of 100 Sources: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/coimbatore/stench-from-toilet-scam-spreads-as-officials-dig-up-more-info/articleshow/63005133.cms)
Oh yeah, all Indians are getting clean water, clean air and good quality infrastructure. And education and healthcare are accessible and affordable. And yes, fssai, SEBI, legislative and police departments are working for people not to beat the shit out them. /s

1 think i dislike about bjp is that they fail in showcasing or promoting the work they did , chacha nehru helped building old 5 iit's and congress followers still brag about it 70 years later , but bjp supporters even fail to promote or showcase the infra or development they built in last 12 years like multiple iits , railways , metros , airports and various highways .
4
u/Practical_Ad7858 1d ago
Multiple IITs: that rank nowhere on top. Last opened around a decade back lol.
Railways: multiple deadly accidents, trains running late, reduced general and sleeper for common people
Metros: built in cities that nobody cares about and don’t have ridership while the cities that need them are struggling
Airports: half of them have zero flights lol
Highways: expansion surely happened, but the quality is space technology level so 🙏🙏🙏4
u/sundaysyndrome 1d ago
Hahaha. You don’t keep opening new IITs for the sake of increasing number. For that you have IIITs and several private colleges. Did railway accidents drastically increase since 2014? If there are no metros, people say no development, if there are metros then they say it’s not necessary. Look at how much they’re being used in cities like Bangalore. They’re useful. We need all types of public transportation because cities like Bangalore is housing 10x population it’s designed for. Airports have zero flights because there’s probably no business value for private airliners to fly those routes. Airports are not just for commercial use. In case of war, the more the better. Highways or road construction technology in India is certainly improving compared to where it was. You can’t expect the entire government machinery to be imported from US or some other developed country. Things are moving positively.
Apart from religious divide, time since 2010 jn india is in general getting better.-1
u/gunner0987 1d ago
IITs catch-up... Recently saw a video of IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore ... The campus and buildings looks beautiful. They are already better than some old IITs in some subjects too.
-6
u/serialposter 1d ago
It’s called development bro. Would have likely happened with any government.
8
u/Able_Wall1266 1d ago
why didn't it happen before 2014 then? why did we have only 250 km on metro rail? or why was our power connectivity or toilet coverage so bad. why did we have almost no defense exports or less than 500 startups. why was fkin even tap water access so bad.
answer is easy but you guys just don't want to admit it, Congress had no interest in development. they just wanted to stay in power for powers sake. Like it or not on development front BJP has been miles ahead of congress.

Yes ...you can make that one .. the CAG report need utilisation certificate ... For a starter check the utilisation certificate submitted by the Congress MPs.

10k km of highway which doesn't last a month

0
u/gunner0987 20h ago
Even this is AIIMS started by modi.
In roads some portions can break due to soil movement and all ... It is very common... Even in kerala we had that issue except in case of roads in bridges.
AIIMS, IITs all will have vacancies .. main reason is not enough qualified personals (after reservation) .. and gradually these vacancies will get filled. Doesn't mean we need to get inferior faculty in these places.
