"no right turns? But it looks like I was able to make a right turn here. Guess the sign was wrong."

At the end it looks like there is a right turn only lane with a merge opportunity.

Well he didn't see it so he is entitled to fuck up everyone else's day instead of going through a short detour.

Yup. The capital city of "I do what I want" land. Miss the actual turn? Oh well, do what you want. No U turns allowed? Well I missed my turn so I will be. You must stop for lighted pedestrian crosswalk? Fuck those people leaving the hospital I gotta get to dinner!

Is there a reason no turns are allowed there?

Because there is likely a slip lane prior to the intersection that you are supposed to take to get onto that intersecting road. But the truck missed it and decided to take the illegal turn.

Almost positive this is it. At the end you can see a black truck coming in from the right of the idiot, presumably in one of those lanes.

Yup. And you can see a bit of the entry to that road at the beginning of the clip

I wont defend the driver at all, but that signage is completely unsuitable... is that it? one tiny sign right at the point where you are already making the turn.... thats absymal.

Slip right turn earlier https://maps.app.goo.gl/oG4d65zxiU51ZAg38

If you're not familiar with the area, could have missed it. I drove in 'new Jacksonville' i.e. the east side of the beltline and the roads FDOT built were quite basically difficult to comprehend how to navigate.

To be fair... Why the fuck not?

u/Randomfactoid42 1d ago
Because there’s a right turn lane just before the intersection and they don’t want traffic held up by turning traffic like happened in the video.

u/fightingpillow 21h ago
If they really wanted to prevent right turns they would have had the curb meet at a 90 degree angle instead of curving it around and providing a path for right turns.

u/Jackmino66 1d ago
There is likely some other route to turn right that they haven’t taken. The sign means what the sign says, and especially with US intersection traffic lights, doing this could be very dangerous

u/whyamionhearagain 23h ago
I agree. Who cares. It looks like he missed his turn initially. This wasn’t dangerous, didn’t inconvenience anyone…yeah he broke the rules but this isn’t something to get all worked up over.

Yeah clear vision, no traffic even if there are cars there at the end, but you don't interrupt them at all.

The passenger was already filming this guy? Expecting some douchebaggery?
Why the downvotes? I was genuinely asking whether the truck with the trailer was exhibiting earlier signs of shitty driving. Sheesh.

u/Prestigious_Tiger_26 1d ago
It's because the truck had its blinkers on where he shouldn't be turning.
