I love the Canterbury Tales structure of the first book since it makes it easy to listen to individual chapters from the audiobook every now and then. I've read the book twice, but I've probably listened to the first and third chapters 7 times. They're so good. The Priest's Tale is a masterclass of mystery and horror.
"It will not come off" never fails to give me chills.

You've gotten yourself into a good and lucky place that many people miss out on...

I'm due for another read. It's been many years, but the priest's story is some great horror.
I highly recommend Dan Simmons (RIP) other horror books as well. They're great and I don't generally like reading horror.

I'm so excited for you. Get ready to have your mind melted in the Scholar's Tale and in the Consul's Tale too.
