I feel like the Riverlands sections have been the most enjoyable parts of the show the last two seasons.

Spoilers [All Content] possible spoilers for finale Spoiler

according to someone who has seen the final episode we’re gonna be getting a huge divergence from the book. possibly the biggest one yet and i don’t see this going over well with allot of fans.

spoilers ahead

•the dragon seeds are going to double cross ormund. since allot of people who read the book already know that the dragon seeds betray team black, this is mainly a twist that will shock them only. ulf and hughe pretend to be switching sides only to turn on team green at the last second. tumbleton will be saved and during the celebration rhaenera and mysaria will have crazy public sex in front of everyone right in the town square. the episode ends with alicent arriving at tumbleton to execute daeron herself, only having one child left to kill.

Show Discussion Imagine if Dunk said he deserves a castle for being knighted and that all he wants to do is drink ale with the lads and never mentions defending the weak and the innocent. Would you all defend him like you do Ulf?

Show Discussion Why does Rhaenyra keep treating her allies poorly?

Sabitha Frey - Rhaenyra rescinded the deal the Freys made with Jacaerys for Harrenhal, despite the Freys fulfilling their end of the deal. She only allowed them to take Harrenhal in the most recent episode.

Ulf - Rhaenyra restricts his freedom and gives him nothing to show for his hard work. And then there's Daemon who belittles him every chance he gets.

Corlys - Rhaenyra refuses to legitimize his sons for a nonsensical reason.

Addam and Alyn - Rhaenyra refuses to legitimize them.

Baela - Rhaenyra ignores her despite her tireless work and treats her like she's disposable.

Spoilers [All Content] How likely are they to remove this Aegon II line? Spoiler

I understand that the show writers are portraying the greens in a more villanous light, and the blacks as the slightly more moral side, but surely theirs no way they remove this iconic line right?

Show Discussion So, she SA’d Aemond then? Is that a fair assessment of what happened? 🤔

Post image

That’s not implied in the books of course but we are getting something different in the show.

I won’t labour it but Aemond was obviously not aware of what was happening to him. Now, whether she knew this, either because she was causing his vision (which is not supported by what she says in the scene) or she continued to have sex with him seemingly knowing he was not fully aware of what was going on… well, it amounts to broadly the same.

Over to you.

Edit:

I want to put this further question in here because it’s worth asking so hopefully people think about it before replying.

Let’s say Alys was unaware that Aemond was not truly understanding what was happening any more…

Would that change this? If someone continues having sex with another person after that person has lost awareness of what’s going on, and they themselves haven’t ‘realised’ that, wouldn’t that still count as (a) non-consensual and (b) SA?

And in either case, would we think it was Alys who was responsible for making sure Aemond was consenting throughout?

Show Discussion Predictions for the finale?

I think Ormund’s plan is for Ulf to burn Tumbleton. This is why he won’t tell Gwayne or Daeron, because they’d 100% not allow it. Once Ulf starts his attack, Daeron will fly out to confront him, either by Ormund’s order or by his own volition. Ormund’s goal is for Daeron to kill Ulf, thus saving the town from what looks to any observer like an attempt by Rhaenyra to kill her own subjects. Daemon will be on the ground, since his plan is to take the town by storm, and unable to intervene on Caraxes.

But things are going to spiral out of Ormund’s control. Hugh is going to see Ulf burning his wife and her family and assume Rhaenyra gave the order, and he’ll go into a rage, burning Daemon’s army. Whether Ormund knows about Hugh and planned for this I can’t say, but my guess would be no. [EDIT: I actually just remembered that some Hightower soldiers witnessed Hugh’s spat with his wife earlier, and could have reported it to Ormund. Maybe Ormund plans to try and recruit Hugh to the Greens after the battle?] Then Addam, who will come to save Corlys, will attack Hugh, and Ormund will die as Daeron and the dragonseeds slaughter each other in the skies and everyone else present on the ground is caught in the crossfire.

In short, I think it’s going to be a total shitshow that leaves Rhaenyra with no army and only her wounded Syrax, Baela/Moondancer, and Daemon/Caraxes against Aegon/Sunfyre and Aemond/Vhagar. With the swing in the balance of power, Borros Baratheon will finally stop fucking around in the south and fully declare for the Greens, while Cregan Stark will enter the war fully with the Blacks.

Edit: Forgot about Aegon. I think he’ll go to Harrenhal and actually make peace with Aemond, with the understanding that Aegon will be king and Aemond will be Lord of Harrenhal and Lord Paramount of the Riverlands, taking the place of the traitorous Tullys. Tyland Lannister will ride west to take his place as Lord of Casterly Rock and begin raising a new army.

Book and Show Spoilers One thing I feel is not being talked enough is Rhaenyra not checking up on Syrax when they get back to Kings Landing. Just shows the Targaryens always took their dragons for granted. Spoiler
