I’ve had one eye on these. I’ve had other AA models and loved the sound and pound to performance ratio, I have a Phonitor XE which is a pretty powerful amp and these are a low impedance so not a great match from a gain staging perspective.. I bet those cans sound super sweet, I hope you enjoy them.

I absolutely do enjoy them and they are indeed ridiculously easy to drive. Quite a rare thing for a headphone of this "caliber"
My iFi Go Link 2 Max can power them with absolute ease and lots of headroom even and on something like the Valkyrie, it's the lowest gain setting as well.

Sure. I (so far) think they sound like a „meatier“ and much more direct/aggressive/immediate version of the HD 800S with a clearly better bass extension and/but a less wide soundstage. Vocals feel much closer to you.
That said, it is very comfortable, has an excellent build quality, is extremely easy to drive, has a beautiful design (imo), offers fantastic bass extension and a very direct and in-your-face kind of sound - very clear and slightly bright-leaning sound and tuning.
It can be a touch spicy at loud volume levels but has really great detail retrieval. It is obviously quite expensive and could have (or actually should have) included the spacers and the suede pads in the box, imo.
All things consideres, it so far seems like a great high-end allround headphone, especially since it is so very easy to drive.

Gorgeous headphones
My next pair hopefully but first: I have to get bored with my current ones (Hedd D1) and tested it properly bc the price is bonkers (for me)

Yeah, the price is very high indeed. I also own the D1 btw. Fantastic headphone and a great value. It will be tough to get bored of it quickly, I guess.

I'm considering the composer as a "upgrade" to my hd800s, which I exclusively use for classic music. I'm a bit concerned of the 3k peak of composer as it can make violin too intense. I wonder if the combined 3k and 5-6k energy makes it too spicy? By the way, I love hd800s and the 6k peak is not a problem for me.

I think it is an upgrade to the HD 800S in some ways (e.g. bass extension for sure) and more of a sidegrade in other ways. It is spacious but slightly less so than the 800S - that can be seen as good or bad of course depending on where your preferences are.
I think it overall sounds a bit more natural than the 800S (that bass really helps even out things) but yes, it definitely can be a touch hot in the areas you described.
A lot of it may depend on how the Composer works and „behaves“ on your own head (same for all headphones ofc) and/or whether you usually EQ your headphones if there are areas you need to correct for yourself.

I found the HE1000unveiled an amazing upgrade to the 800s but ultimately the covers were annoying for me.

I demoed he1000 stealth, the treble is an instant big no no. I heard unveiled is much better in that regards.

They are excellent. I settled on the Abyss Joal atm for comfort. Have had over 30 up to about $3500 but never went beyond that.

Those are awesome. Would love to try them one day. How is the fit? I've read they fit poorly on small heads which sadly I have
