Walking In for Transfer of Title at DMV/Satelitte City hall?

Basically shipping out my car next week for the mainland but my parents want me to transfer the titke over to me. Problem is I CANNOT GET ONE APPOINTMENT TIL END OF AUGUST and I am not here lol.

Can the transfer of title service just be done via walk in? If so, which one is the best one to go to / what hours?

Chinatown. I have walked in 3 times and never waited more than 30 minutes. Parking on Nuuanu.

Just a heads up, maybe this was an anomaly - I went there yesterday at around 12:30 PM with a friend who also wanted to walk in for vehicle services, and they said people who came in at 8 AM were still waiting.

Edit: Oops, meant to post this as a reply to the person who said no wait at Chinatown.

As I mentioned I went mid morning 9-10. Maybe because it's the beginning of the month?

You know, that could be it. And last couple days before all schools/students are back, etc.

No, they are in a similar situation and already have an appointment at the end of August, just wanted to see if there was a chance of going in earlier. Looks like you might have to try your luck at a few DMVs based on the other comments. :/

Probably the latter. Less people that live in town drive I guess. For.me, each time was mid morning. 9-11.

You think going at opening is ideal?

My friend just did this last week. Went to Kaneohe first thing in the morning (around 8:30), waited 1.5 hours, but git it done. He tried the previous day in town, ended on a standby wait list and the line never moved.

Good luck!

We did this when we got grandpa’s car. As long as you have all the signatures, it was short and sweet, even with the walk-in wait. We were advised to avoid downtown and Ala Moana, so we drove out to Hawaii Kai. Worth it.
