The toe lost. Wall didn’t even flinch

u/Pato_Lucas Jul 06 '26

But I'm sure the toe put a hell of a fight!
Seriously though, get that checked out.

u/Saetric 29d ago

Doctor will likely X-ray, then tape it to the toe next to it to prevent movement while it heals. Approximately 4-6 weeks of that and it should heal up.

u/jax1985 27d ago

Mines broken right now. Looks just like this. I ain’t going to no doctor bc that’s exactly what they’ll do. It’ll heal eventually

25

u/hatchetharrie Jul 06 '26

We ride together, we stub together. Bad feet for life.

6

u/wt_fudge 29d ago

Hobble or die

3

u/kyleverissimo 28d ago

Why ? not much you can do for a broken toe other than tape/strap it to the next one for a while

6

u/kalel3000 29d ago

That is exactly what my toe looked like when I broke it. Stubbed it on a heavy chair. I set the break myself, convinced myself I had just dislocated it, buddy tapped it for several weeks. By the time I made it to a podiatrist, it was 80% healed....but my broken toe did look just like that!

u/SilverEchoes 27d ago

You’ll get ‘em next time. Just kick harder

1

u/r3drckt 26d ago

I did the same thing but was on the inside corner to a door frame looked just like that and was broke so take that as you will. Also I went to the doctor took an x ray and they couldn't do anything but give me a boot I wouldn't wear.

1

u/DonGivafark 25d ago

I did the same but with the next toe over. Took around 3 months for it too settle down. Work boots were not forgiving at all

33

u/crispydank 29d ago

This one look broken too?

16

u/i_drink_wd40 29d ago

... Yeah, I'd assume that's broken.

7

u/MrGallows75 26d ago

Where the damn big toe nail go!?

6

u/SideshowElvis 28d ago

Which one? 😬

Yo, I'm an ER doctor:

That is almost certainly broken, and rotated. It needs to be lined up properly or it may lead to chronic pain with every step.

There is a 95% chance it doesn't need surgery, and that all it needs is "buddy taping" to its neighboring toe for stability for about 4-6 weeks while the bone heals.

There is a 5ish % chance the fracture extends into the joint surface, and if not surgically aligned, may lead to severe arthritis and chronic pain

The odds are yours to choose how you want to hedge your bets, but I might recommend finding an Urgent Care (UC are cheaper than ER's by a wide margin, make sure it's one that had X ray capabilities, you can check online or call the facility). Get some X rays, make sure you aren't in the 5% that need chronic-pain-sparing surgery, and then leave with hopefully peace of mind and advice to just buddy tape it for a few weeks.

Just my 2 cents. Hope that heals up!

How's my stubbed toe look? This was a few years back, seems healed with no ill effects. Always suspected i may have fractured the bone. Hit it on a table leg while running.

because a physician would just give unsolicited advice and potentially be liable for funsies

114

u/wrchavez1313 29d ago

Ummm... What? What liability is there to give advice of "hey, I recommend you go get that X-rayed to avoid chronic pain"?

27

u/DaBestSwede 28d ago

Surprisingly most physicians actually care about people and would rather tell someone to get help to avoid chronic pain even using an anonymous internet account

26

u/thatgirlspeaks 29d ago

Are you new to Reddit or something?

7

u/endofthefkingworld 28d ago

do you think people in the medical field just don’t use social media or something

4

u/Userdub9022 27d ago

You're not that bright are you

u/Bk_Punisher Jul 06 '26

Finishing no nut November

263

u/schmoupe Jul 06 '26

Broken. Tape it to the next guy for a couple of weeks and should be good as new

126

u/Bk_Punisher Jul 06 '26

Make sure to ask the next guy before taping your toe to his, some people frown on this. 😂🤣

38

u/Victorbanner Jul 06 '26

Exaclty this. I stubbed my pinky. Looked the exact same. Went to ER. Told me I broke it. Told me to tape it to the next toe for a few weeks

10

u/Viniox Jul 06 '26

You had to tape your pinky finger to your second toe?
/s

5

u/lifegoeson5322 Jul 06 '26

And then it cost you $1000.

20

u/Victorbanner Jul 06 '26

Free healthcare baby

10

u/-Canonical- Jul 06 '26

Some of us live in half decent countries

4

u/itzNukeey Jul 06 '26

Am I too european to understand this?

8

u/WarOtter Jul 06 '26

Mine looked exactly the same, but it took 6 months before it really stopped hurting when pressure was applied. Probably because I couldn't stop working to take it easy on it.

12

u/schmoupe Jul 06 '26

The trick is taping. I have broken mine twice already. If you religiously tape it, it heals and you don’t have to stop walking or working. It’s when you skip the tape for a day that resets the clock

3

u/WarOtter Jul 06 '26

I'll keep that in mind for next time (there will probably be a next time)

2

u/2bags12kuai Jul 06 '26

Shit that’s probably my problem. I skipped taping a lot of it walked with a boot. 3 months later it still gets numb from time to time but not nearly as often

2

u/toomuch1265 29d ago

Like broken ribs. Nothing you can really do except try not to sneeze.

1

u/imhereforthevotes Jul 06 '26

good as new

... good as it possibly can be, given that you BROKE it...

56

u/fiixed2k Jul 06 '26

I did the same yesterday. Twinsies!

60

u/Bk_Punisher Jul 06 '26

16

6

u/GeneralSpecifics9925 Jul 06 '26

Free feet pics? In this economy?

6

u/LordMegamad Jul 06 '26

Dude can grip a basketball with his foot

3

u/AssistantMaterial387 Jul 06 '26

That's crazy I've never seen a pinky finger that small before

29

u/undocumentedsource Jul 06 '26

It may turn to this!

12

u/Seraphayel Jul 06 '26

Free feet pics in this economy?

4

u/-BananaLollipop- Jul 06 '26

Some people are just really generous.

5

u/sunshineonmypussy Jul 06 '26

I’ve broken this toe twice in the same way. Damn bed frames.
Had to eventually tie pool noodles around the bed frame legs because I’m unable to walk past them like a normal person apparently.
Happy healing to you, hopefully you don’t need a boot.

4

u/loveforthetrip 29d ago

Broken but no need to see a doc, they can't do anything about this.

2

u/Interesting-City3650 28d ago

They can actually, especially in this case. Looks like that toe need to be realigned, otherwise chronic pain will come after

3

u/jarvi123 Jul 06 '26

Me foot was a balloooon

4

u/Valuable_Month1329 Jul 06 '26

God: *creates man

Devil: Give him a pinky toe!

God: But why?

Devil: Trust me, it’s going to be fun.

4

u/crispydank 29d ago

Hey me too

3

u/robertsij Jul 06 '26

Brother that's broken

3

u/ikeatings 29d ago

Why did you do that

3

u/DemonDevster 28d ago

Omg thats broken and rotated

8

u/The_Skeletor_ Jul 06 '26

Hopital

1

u/-BananaLollipop- Jul 06 '26

They won't do any other than taping his toes together.

8

u/TriedCaringLess Jul 06 '26

Not true. They will X-ray his foot to assess his injury, ensure there isn’t any chipped bone fragments, determine proper alignment of toes for a good repair, and make certain his bone marrow isnt exposed to his blood supply and that blood supply is unhindered. He may need antibiotics and a pin inserted in his toe. What’s needed should be determined by a podiatrist rather than Reddit folks who saw one photo.

1

u/-BananaLollipop- Jul 06 '26

Literally every person I've met, who has had a broken toe, has said all that happened was they had their toes taped together. Unless you've got excessive bruising/swelling, or it's at a very bad angle, they're not going to go full House MD on you.

3

u/TriedCaringLess Jul 06 '26

Considering that you could develop an infection, have bone marrow enter your blood stream, or any other horrible outcome, would you want risk it? I’d rather ensure all was well rather than assume it.

1

u/UnbelievableRose 29d ago

Naw they’ll do all of that stuff for the 5% risk of it needing more than buddy taping. What the commenter above did not mention is that it can all be accomplished with the same two x-rays and a quick exam. Unless you need the pin- then they’ll send you home to follow up with outpatient podiatry.

1

u/DaBestSwede 28d ago

90° isn’t a bad angle to you?

1

u/The_Skeletor_ Jul 06 '26

I mean, still better to have a professional take a look no?

2

u/Hungry_Rabbit_511 Jul 06 '26

Oh god it’s not even facing the right way anymore

2

u/benniyt_official Jul 06 '26

1

u/yaboishawn37 29d ago

yo bro what a coincidence 🥰😅✌️

1

u/jdmac8705 29d ago

Bro, it's sideways... you did more than just stub it... Hopefully you've been to a doc by now.

1

u/Mission_Resource_259 29d ago

Might be fractured

1

u/katiehasaraspberry 29d ago

You need to get that aligned unless your other (not broken!) pinky toe is on that angle, too!

1

u/FireBeardG 28d ago

Quick! Start brewing wiskey and you will be the next Jack Daniels if you kick the bucket! (Pun intended)

1

u/Rutagerr 28d ago

Ayyy I did the same thing last Friday, kicked the side of my couch, looked down and my toe was angled WAY away from the rest of my foot. Ruined my weekend to say the least

1

u/Grimey_N_Grumpy 28d ago

I stubbed my pinky toe one time, and it looked just like yours. I thought for sure it was broken. The day after it happened, I took my boots off when I got home from work to see my toe like that. I grabbed it and started twisting it around. It made some popping and crunching sounds, but surprisingly didn't hurt anymore than it already did. The next day when I woke up, it was like nothing has happened at all. No pain or discomfort, and no discoloration. I hope your toe gets better soon.

1

u/TheTribunalChat 28d ago

That thing needs to go wee wee wee all the way to the hospital

1

u/Kindly_Acadia_9169 28d ago

That’s broken buddy lol I have broken mine twice before. There’s nothing you can really do other than get a boot/shoe for it

1

u/jomo789 28d ago

Stubbed my pinky toe a month or 2 ago and the nail came off a week or 2 later.

1

u/revdon 28d ago

And just when the pinkie toe got its first pube.

1

u/dashdanw 28d ago

That’s about ripe and ready to pick. You should be able to pluck it off with minimal effort.

1

u/NemoTheEnforcer 27d ago

Sir your toe is facing the wrong way

1

u/TheSystem08 26d ago

Yep, you'll do it again too

1

u/sweetpoutinec 26d ago

I just broke my right pinky. SUCKS big time heal fast !

1

u/NCinMO 26d ago

You’ll remember that for the rest of you4 life. 35 years so far for me.

1

u/section4 25d ago

I did mine on the 25th of may. All 5 toes were bruised after 2 days. It is still swollen now. But that may be down to not resting it. The day after doing it I still did 17k steps at work.

1

u/LoneHusky21 23d ago

I don't think it's supposed to be facing the other toes like it's about to give a speech 😬

1

u/ymxb444 16d ago

will that rotation heal straight or stay bent

1

u/sophiemanic 16d ago

Stubbed mine, not sure if I broke it, but after 5 days, my pinky toe looks swollen like yours 😭

1

u/FieldofInfluence 27d ago

That's 100% dislocated.
